  • Patent number: 10289574
Abstract: This disclosure relates to arbitration of different types of requests to access a cache. Features of this disclosure can be implemented in a graphics processing unit (GPU). In one embodiment, an arbiter can receive requests from a color processor and a depth processor and determine which of the received requests has the highest priority. The request with the highest priority can then be provided to the cache. The priority can be configurable. The arbiter can determine priority, for example, based on whether a location in the cache associated with a request is available, a weight associated with the request, a number of requests of a particular type processed by the arbiter, or any combination thereof.

  • Patent number: 10291309
Abstract: Various aspects of the disclosure relate to managing the transmission of uplink beams. For example, a first apparatus may generate a signal for transmission to a second apparatus. Thereafter, the first apparatus may detect a condition associated with transmitting the signal via a first uplink beam at a first transmission power. The condition may include the first uplink beam exceeding a maximum permissible exposure (MPE) limit. Accordingly, the first apparatus may refrain from transmitting the signal via the first uplink beam based on the at least one condition and transmit the signal to the second apparatus using a second uplink beam different from the first uplink beam.

  • Patent number: 10292101
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A wireless device, such as a device in a wireless local area network, may use a radio frame structure that includes a high efficiency (HE) signal field and an HE data field for communications, for example, over shared radio frequency spectrum. One or more bits or symbols within the HE signal field may be adjusted to avoid a high peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR). In some cases, the adjustment may be to a signal A (SIG-A) or signal B (SIG-B) field. In some examples, a random bit sequence may be used for padding in a signal field. In other examples, bits may be reversed or scrambled. In yet other examples, bits may be modulated and a phase rotation may be applied to the corresponding signal.

  • Patent number: 10290340
Abstract: Aspects disclosed in the detailed description include offset-canceling (OC) write operation sensing circuits for sensing switching in a magneto-resistive random access memory (MRAM) bit cell in an MRAM for a write operation. The OC write operation sensing circuit is configured to sense when MTJ switching occurs in MRAM bit cell. In an example, the OC write operation sensing circuit includes a voltage sensing circuit and a sense amplifier. The voltage sensing circuit employs a capacitive-coupling effect so that the output voltage drops in response to MTJ switching for both logic ‘0’ and logic ‘1’ write operations. The sense amplifier has a single input and a single output node with an output voltage indicating when MTJ switching has occurred in the MRAM bit cell. A single input transistor and pull-up transistor are provided in the sense amplifier in one example to provide an offset-canceling effect.

  • Patent number: 10292133
Abstract: A person may utilize multiple connected devices, such as smart watches, user equipments (UEs), smartphones, tablet computers, and/or the like, which may each be assigned unique phone numbers. Operators may assign a common phone number to the multiple connected devices; however, the phone number is not used in the access stratum path of a radio access technology resulting in multiple paging procedures being performed for the multiple connected devices. In implementations, described herein, a first UE, such as a smartphone, may obtain paging information associated with decoding paging messages for a second UE, such as a smart watch. The first UE may use the paging information to decode a paging message of a combined paging cycle established for the first UE and the second UE, thereby obviating a need for multiple paging cycles for the first UE and the second UE.

  • Patent number: 10292064
Abstract: Enhanced techniques may be used for identifying and reporting collision-based scenarios. In one example, a wireless modem measures a number of signals received from a number of devices that are located on the same chip as the wireless modem when a physical link between the wireless modem and an accelerometer is broken, the accelerometer is inoperable, or a combination thereof. In the event of a collision event, the wireless modem may use the measured signals to determine that the collision event has occurred and may transmit an indication of the collision event. For instance, the wireless modem may use signals from an audio sensor, a motion sensor, a global navigation satellite system (GNSS), or the like.

  • Patent number: 10291349
Abstract: Techniques for using multiple modulation schemes for a single packet are described. Each data packet is processed and transmitted in up to T blocks, where T>1. Multiple modulation schemes are used for the T blocks to achieve good performance. A transmitter encodes a data packet to generate code bits. The transmitter then forms a block of code bits with the code bits generated for the packet, determines the modulation scheme to use for the block (e.g., based on a mode/rate selected for the packet), maps the code bits for the block based on the modulation scheme to obtain data symbols, and processes and transmits the block of data symbols to a receiver. The transmitter generates and transmits another block in similar manner until the data packet is decoded correctly or all T blocks have been transmitted. The receiver performs the complementary processing to receive and decode the packet.

  • Patent number: 10291211
Abstract: Adaptive pulse generation circuits for clocking pulse latches with minimum hold time are provided. In one aspect, an adaptive pulse generation circuit employs a dynamic XOR-based logic gate configured to provide a pulse generation signal based on an XOR-based function of data input and data output-based signals of a pulse latch. A pull-down keeper circuit is configured to pull the pulse generation signal to a ground voltage in response to the pulse generation signal being in an inactive state while the clock signal is in an active state. A logic circuit is configured to generate an adaptive pulse signal to clock a pulse latch in response to the pulse generation signal and the clock signal being in an active state. This configuration results in the pulse width of the adaptive pulse signal corresponding to the input-to-output delay of the pulse latch.
