  • Patent number: 10278167
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. In one example, an indication in a first control message in a control region of a first transmission time interval (TTI) identifies a data region of the first TTI. A data region of the second TTI may be identified based on a grant of resources received in a second control message of a second TTI, where the data region of the first TTI and the control region of the second TTI are frequency division multiplexed with the data region of the second TTI. Other examples include a downlink grant at the beginning of a control region and uplink grants at the end of the control region. In other examples, a downlink grant for a user equipment (UE) may include an indication of resources allocated to the UE in that resource block and a second resource block.

  • Patent number: 10277889
Abstract: Methods and apparatus for determining a depth of an object within a scene are provided. Image data of a scene can be captured using a lens configured to project an image of the scene onto an image sensor. The lens has a known focal length and is movable between at least a first lens position and a second lens position. A first image of the scene is captured with the lens at a first lens position, and a second image of the scene is captured with the lens at a second, different position. By measuring a first dimension of the object using the first image and a second dimension of the object using the second image, a depth of the object may be determined based upon a ratio of the first and second dimensions, the focal length of the lens, and a distance between the first and second lens positions.

  • Patent number: 10278151
Abstract: In one aspect, a method includes performing, by a wireless station, a fine timing measurement (FTM) procedure that includes exchanging one or more FTM messages between the wireless station and an access point to obtain a first round-trip time (RTT) between the wireless station and the access point. The method also includes performing, by the wireless station, a non-FTM procedure to obtain a second RTT between the wireless station and the access point. The wireless station then calculates a turn-around calibration factor (TCF) estimate of the access point based on a difference between the second RTT and the first RTT. Data representative of the TCF estimate of the access point may then be sent to a server.

  • Patent number: 10278146
Abstract: The use of a radio access technology (RAT) may enable wireless communication using one or more node functions at a wireless node, such as a base station or access node. Additionally, multiple wireless nodes may communicate in a network using a schedule that is aligned with a frame structure. For example, a wireless node may establish a link with different wireless nodes using a RAT that supports a synchronized frame structure, such as a millimeter wave (mmW) RAT. The wireless nodes may instantiate one or more node functions, such as an access node function (ANF) and a user equipment function (UEF). The wireless nodes may then communicate according to active and suspended modes using the node functions, where the communication is based on a schedule aligned with the frame structure.

  • Patent number: 10269135
Abstract: Methods, apparatuses, and computer-readable media are provided for maintaining blob trackers for video frames. For example, a blob tracker maintained for a current video frame is identified. The blob tracker is associated with a blob detected in one or more video frames. The blob includes pixels of at least a portion of a foreground object in the one or more video frames. A current bounding region of the blob tracker for the current video frame is compared to a previous bounding region of the blob tracker for a previous video frame that is obtained earlier in time than the current video frame. It can be determined whether the current bounding region has decreased in size as compared to a size of the previous bounding region, and whether a first color characteristic of pixels of the current video frame included in the previous bounding region is within a threshold from a second color characteristic of pixels of the previous video frame included in the previous bounding region.

  • Patent number: 10271227
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for enhanced neighbor discovery through enhanced automatic neighbor relations (ANR) and for detecting cell identifier confusion and are described. Neighboring base stations may provide information to one another, including using ANR, that may avoid or help to resolve cell identity confusion. For example, a NHN-ID may be defined to avoid or resolve cell identify confusion. A wireless device, such as a base station or a user equipment (UE), may determine whether neighboring cells are using a common cell identifier and may adjust operations accordingly. For example, a device may detect physical cell identity (PCI) confusion by determining whether two neighboring cells have the same PCI and different Evolved Universal Terrestrial Access Network (E-UTRAN) Cell Global Identifiers (ECGIs) or different Neutral Host Network Identifier (NHN-IDs). A network entity may then inform the neighboring cells having the same PCI of the confusion.

  • Patent number: 10268195
Abstract: In an embodiment, a vehicle controller determines a predicted driving performance level of a vehicle driving control entity (VDCE) while the vehicle is controlled by a different VDCE. Driving control is transitioned to the VDCE, after which an actual driving performance level of the VDCE is monitored. The vehicle controller determines whether to transition driving control away from the VDCE based on the actual driving performance level. • Patent number: 10270455
Abstract: Multi-phase clock generation employing phase error detection between multiple delay circuit outputs in a controlled delay line to provide error correction is disclosed. A multi-phase clock generator is provided that includes a controlled delay line and a phase error detector circuit. Tap nodes are provided from outputs of one or more delay circuits in the controlled delay line. To detect and correct for phase errors in the controlled delay line, a phase detection circuit is provided that includes at least two phase detectors each configured to measure a phase offset error between tap nodes from the delay circuit(s) in the controlled delay line. These phase errors are then combined to create an error correction signal, which is used to control the delay of the delay circuit(s) in the controlled delay line to lock the phase of the output of the final delay circuit to an input reference clock signal.

  • Patent number: 10268358
Abstract: In an electronic device capable of running multiple software applications concurrently, applications, documents, cards, or other activities can be selected for hibernation so as to free up system resources for other activities that are in active use. A determination is made as to which activities should hibernate, for example based on a determination as to which activities have not been used recently or based on relative resource usage. When an activity is to hibernate, its state is preserved on a storage medium such as a disk, so that the activity can later be revived in the same state and the user can continue with the same task that was being performed before the activity entered hibernation.
