Patent number: 11553424Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure relate to a user equipment (UE) for wireless communication. The UE wakes to monitor for a wakeup signal (WUS) having a maximum WUS duration and configured to indicate an upcoming transmission of a paging signal corresponding to the WUS. The UE detects a reference signal tone energy from tones carrying reference signals, detects a WUS tone energy from tones designated for carrying the WUS, and determines whether the WUS is present or absent based on the WUS tone energy and the reference signal tone energy. The UE then transitions to a sleep state prior to an end of the maximum WUS duration when the WUS is determined to be absent. Alternatively, the UE remains awake when the WUS is determined to be present and receives the paging signal corresponding to the WUS. Other aspects, features, and embodiments are also claimed and described.Type: GrantFiled: July 24, 2020Date of Patent: January 10, 2023Assignee: Qualcommm IncorporatedInventors: Ganesh Nagamani, Raghavendra Shyam Ananda, Srikanth Menon

Patent number: 8804689Abstract: A wireless communications device supporting peer-to-peer communications acquires peer-to-peer communications resources for an extended period of time. In some embodiments, a base station assigns the resources to the device, while in other embodiments, the device reserves, e.g., self-assigns peer-to-peer communications resources for an extended period of time. The wireless communications device decides that it will not be using an acquired peer-to-peer communications resources, e.g., a particular acquired peer-to-peer traffic segment. The wireless communications device transmits a resource availability indicator indicating that it will not be using the particular peer-to-peer communications resource. Another wireless communications device, which detects the resource availability indicator, may use the peer-to-peer communications resource which is not be used by the device to which it is assigned.Type: GrantFiled: May 16, 2012Date of Patent: August 12, 2014Assignee: QUALCOMMM IncorporatedInventors: Ritesh K. Publication number: 20130121406Abstract: In general, techniques are described for implementing an 8-point discrete cosine transform (DCT). An apparatus comprising an 8-point discrete cosine transform (DCT) hardware unit may implement these techniques to transform media data from a spatial domain to a frequency domain. The 8-point DCT hardware unit includes an even portion comprising factors A, B that are related to a first scaled factor (?) in accordance with a first relationship. The 8-point DCT hardware unit also includes an odd portion comprising third, fourth, fifth and sixth internal factors (G, D, E, Z) that are related to a second scaled factor (?) in accordance with a second relationship. The first relationship relates the first scaled factor to the first and second internal factors. The second relationship relates the second scaled factor to the third internal factor and a fourth internal factor, as well as, the fifth internal factor and a sixth internal factor.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 8, 2013Publication date: May 16, 2013Applicant: Qualcommm IncorporatedInventor: Qualcomm Incorporated

Publication number: 20120142378Abstract: A method for determining a location of a mobile device with reference to locations of a plurality of reference devices is disclosed. The mobile device receives ambient sound and provides ambient sound information to a server. Each reference device receives ambient sound and provides ambient sound information to the server. The ambient sound information includes a sound signature extracted from the ambient sound. The server determines a degree of similarity of the ambient sound information between the mobile device and each of the plurality of reference devices. The server determines the location of the mobile device to be a location of a reference device having the greatest degree of similarity.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 4, 2011Publication date: June 7, 2012Applicant: QUALCOMMM IncorporatedInventors: Taesu Kim, Kisun You, Yong-Hui Lee, Te-Won Lee

Publication number: 20110026432Abstract: Systems and methodologies are described herein that facilitate a synchronous bus architecture for multi-radio coexistence associated with a wireless device. As described herein, a system of buses operating in a synchronous manner, combined with optional on-chip and/or other supplemental buses, can be utilized to couple respective radios and/or other related endpoints to a coexistence management platform, thereby facilitating management of coexistence between multiple radios in a unified and scalable manner. As further described herein, communication between a coexistence manager and its respective managed endpoints can be facilitated through the use of a single bus or multiple buses (e.g., external buses, on-chip and/or other internal buses, etc.) that can operate concurrently and/or in an otherwise cooperative manner to facilitate expedited conveyance of radio event notifications and their corresponding responses.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 29, 2010Publication date: February 3, 2011Applicant: QUALCOMMM IncorporatedInventors: Hans Georg Gruber, Richard Dominic Wietfeldt, George Chrisikos
