Patent number: 4783878Abstract: According to the invention, a canister with bottom and peripheral walls defines an accumulation space for matter picked up by the vacuum. A lid is secured to the upper edge of the canister and seals the space. The invention resides in the provision of a canister extension whose bottom edge conforms to the top edge of the canister and bears thereupon. The extension can be secured to the canister permanently or removably in any known manner, as by sonic welding or the like. The lid in turn mates with the extension in the same manner that it mates with the open canister edge. Accordingly, the canister capacity is increased. Any number of such extensions can be employed depending upon the range of capacity sought. The invention also contemplates providing a plate bounding an impeller chamber that can be inverted to selectively accommodate different capacity impellers and different capacity motors.Type: GrantFiled: March 11, 1987Date of Patent: November 15, 1988Assignee: Central Quality Industries, Inc.Inventor: James McCambridge

Patent number: 4485944Abstract: A screw-actuated dispenser comprising a receptacle for accommodating a cartridge containing viscous material such a caulk, grease or the like. The receptacle has opposing endwalls between which the cartridge is confined. An elongate drive screw is threadably engaged with a threaded opening in the rear endwall and is extensible within and retractable from the opening and relative to the body by rotation. A slot extends partially along the length of the body and connects with the rear wall opening. A wedge is positioned in the slot, expanding the opening and urging the threads on the drive screw and those within the opening out of engagement with the screw such that the drive screw is freely slidable longitudinally relative to the receptacle. To engage the drive screw in the opening, the slot is compressed by a sleeve extended over an extension of the rear wall on opposite sides of the slot.Type: GrantFiled: April 27, 1982Date of Patent: December 4, 1984Assignee: Central Quality Industries, Inc.Inventor: Arthur H. Patent number: 4459649Abstract: A pole mounted lighting system particularly suitable for lighting athletic fields wherein a lamp supporting frame is mounted adjacent the upper end of a supporting pole. A vertically disposed column is attached to the frame at its central region and includes a cap engaging the pole upper end whereby, during assembly, placing the cap upon the pole upper end permits the frame to be initially positioned and supported upon the pole and permanent pole clamping members are later used to permanently clamp the frame and column to the pole.Type: GrantFiled: June 10, 1983Date of Patent: July 10, 1984Assignee: Quality Industries, Inc.Inventor: Dwight C. Patent number: 4350193Abstract: A power tool accessory table for attaching portable power tools to convert them for use as table-mounted tools, consisting of a removable plate to which the power tool may be attached so that its cutting element projects above the plate's top surface, and a tabletop with an opening in which the plate and attached tool are supported when placed therein from above. The table also has detachable side panels for enlarging the work surface, a remote switch for controlling the tool, an easily removable safety guard, and a friction locked rip fence for guiding workpieces.Type: GrantFiled: May 1, 1980Date of Patent: September 21, 1982Assignee: Central Quality Industries, Inc.Inventors: James McCambridge, Siebolt Hettinga

Patent number: 3996641Abstract: Apparatus for reducing tipping forces applied to an upright cannister-type vacuum cleaner when pulled by an elongate flexible intake hose connected thereto including an elongate strap, means for releasably connecting one end of the strap to a point on the appliance body to beneath the intake hose connector and means for adjustably attaching the other end of the strap to a portion of the hose spaced from the hose connector. When pulling forces from the user are applied to the vacuum cleaner body through the intake hose while vacuuming is being performed, the strap redirects at least a portion of the pulling forces away from the hose connecting means and to the vacuum cleaner body at the strap connection point.Type: GrantFiled: April 28, 1975Date of Patent: December 14, 1976Assignee: Central Quality Industries, Inc.Inventor: Arthur H.
