  • Patent number: 12079827
Abstract: A method and system is provided for identifying local businesses visited by a user. Location and movement data for a user is analyzed to identify points of interest (POIs) visited by a user, and POIs which were not visited while the user travelled to the visited POIs. The POIs are categorized as corresponding to local businesses or national/global businesses, and local business metrics are generated according to frequencies in which the user visits local businesses and/or passes over national/global businesses in favor of local businesses. Then the local business metrics are presented on the user's client computing device along with a heat map indicating frequencies in which the user visited businesses within a geographic area, and/or a cool map indicating frequencies in which the user passed by businesses within the geographic area.

  • Patent number: 12077193
Abstract: The described systems and methods determine a driver's fitness to safely operate a moving vehicle based at least in part upon observed sleep patterns. A smart ring, wearable on a user's finger, continuously monitors sleep amount and quality or the lack thereof. This sleep data, representing sleep patterns, can be utilized, in combination with driving data, to train a machine learning model, which will predict the user's level of risk exposure based at least in part upon observed sleep patterns. The user can be warned of this risk to prevent them from driving or to encourage them to get more sleep before driving. In some instances, the disclosed smart ring system may interact with the user's vehicle to prevent it from starting while in a sleep deprived and high risk state.

  • Patent number: 12077169
Abstract: Systems and methods for providing continuous safe-driver training safely are provided. A safe-driving challenge may be presented to an operator of a vehicle. Data captured by sensors associated with the vehicle may be analyzed to determine whether the operator of the vehicle has completed the safe-driving challenge. Based on a determination that the operator of the vehicle has completed the safe-driving challenge, a notification may be provided to the operator (e.g., indicating to the operator that he or she has successfully completed the challenge). A processor may randomly select whether a reward is to be provided to the operator of the vehicle based on the determination that the operator of the vehicle has completed the safe-driving challenge. Moreover, if a reward is to be provided to the operator of the vehicle, a processor may randomly select a type of reward to be provided to the operator of the vehicle.

  • Patent number: 12070694
Abstract: Method and system for training a virtual character of a telematics-based game. In some examples, a computer-implemented method includes: determining, based at least in part upon telematics data, a plurality of skill points associated with a plurality of real skills exhibited by the user during the one or more real trips; training a virtual character by at least updating, based at least in part upon the plurality of skill points, the plurality of virtual ratings; generating, based at least in part upon the character profile, one or more virtual occurrences to be encountered by the virtual character; determining, based at least in part upon the updated plurality of virtual ratings, one or more outcomes associated with the one or more virtual occurrences; updating the character profile by at least applying the one or more virtual occurrences based on the associated one or more outcomes to the virtual character.

  • Patent number: 12071143
Abstract: Systems and methods for reducing vehicle collisions based on driver risk groups are provided. A plurality of vehicle operators may be classified into a driver risk group based on one or more attributes (e.g., location, workplace, school, demographic, hobby, interest, etc.) shared by the plurality of vehicle operators. Vehicle sensor data (e.g., speed data, acceleration data, braking data, cornering data, following distance data, turn signal data, seatbelt use data, etc.) associated with each of the plurality of vehicle operators of the driver risk group may be analyzed. Based on the analysis of the vehicle sensor data, one or more indicia of safe driving behavior associated with the driver risk group may be identified. In response to a third-party query regarding a vehicle operator in the driver risk group, an indication of the safe driving behavior associated with the driver risk group may be provided to the third party.

  • Patent number: 12067093
Abstract: Systems and methods for performing biometric authentication using a smart ring are disclosed. An exemplary method includes collecting biometric data using sensors of a smart ring while a user is wearing the smart ring, wherein the biometric data includes a heartbeat pattern. The method further includes performing an authentication operation by (i) comparing the collected biometric data to a biometric signature for a known user to determine whether the biometric data matches the biometric signature, and (ii) when the biometric data matches the biometric signature, authenticating the user by updating a record to indicate that the user has been identified and authenticated as the known user. The method also includes, when the record indicates that the user has been identified and authenticated, digitally signing transaction data using a private cryptographic key stored on a memory of the smart ring.

  • Patent number: 12055400
Abstract: Systems and methods for generating calm or quiet routes are provided. When a user requests navigation directions and indicates a preference for a calm route, a plurality of routes between the origin location and the destination location requested by the user may be identified. Historical sensor data (e.g., including heart rate data, exterior vehicle noise level data, accelerometer data) and traffic data associated with route segments of each of the routes may be analyzed to identify indications of calmness associated with each route segment. Current traffic data associated with the route segments may be analyzed to assign a traffic score representing a level of congestion along the segment and corresponding to a level of insurance risk associated with traversing the segment. Based at least in part upon the indications of calmness and the traffic score associated with each route segment, a route may be selected and presented to the user.
