Abstract: Disclosed herein is a method of preparing hydrogen and liquid fuel from a feedstock that comprises plastics, the method comprising: generating a first gas stream, that is a pyrolysis gas, by performing a pyrolysis process on the feedstock; condensing some of the first gas stream to generate a second gas stream and pyrolysis oil, wherein the second gas stream is a light component of the pyrolysis gas; performing a reforming process on the second gas stream to generate hydrogen; and generating liquid fuel by performing a hydrogenation process on the pyrolysis oil; wherein the hydrogenation process reacts the pyrolysis oil with at least some of the generated hydrogen by the reforming process.
