    Abstract: A method of tightening a bolt in an optimum time length does not require an additional program for controlling speed once optimum internal parameters have been determined through several learning cycles. A target torque is first preset and the nut runner is subjected to several learning cycles so that the nut runner automatically determines such internal parameters as to stop the motor immediately after the target torque is reached, requiring a minimum time for tightening the bolt.
