Abstract: This invention relates to the therapeutic and prophylactic use of a combination including lactoperoxidase and at least one other component, with an isoelectric point of, or substantially above 6.8, and which are extracted from milk, to modulate the microbiome of an animal by selectively against at least one pathogenic microoganism.
