Abstract: A computer-based system for monitoring medication compliance. The system can include one or more processors configured to process and manage data. Additionally, the system can also include one or more medication packagings comprising a machine-readable medium. Notably, the machine-readable medium can comprise medication information among other types of information. The one or more processors can be configured to receive the medication information of the machine-readable medium. The machine-readable medium and corresponding medication information can be adjustable based on a dispensing of a medication from the one or more medication packagings.
Abstract: In one aspect, artificial turf systems are described herein. In some embodiments, an artificial turf system comprises an artificial turf mat and artificial turf fibers disposed on a surface of the artificial turf mat, the artificial turf mat comprising at least one energy management material. An energy management material, in some embodiments, is disposed in a backing of the artificial turf mat, a binding agent of the artificial turf mat, and/or an infill material of the artificial turf mat. In addition, in some embodiments, the artificial turf fibers also comprise at least one energy management material.
Abstract: The present invention relates to composite elastomeric yarns and fabrics, to methods of making same, and to articles in which such yarns and fabrics are used. The composite yarns of the present invention comprise a elastomeric core, an elastomeric thermoplastic sheath disposed about the core and, preferably, fibers mechanically anchored in the sheath. The composite fabrics of the present invention comprise the composite yarns of the present invention and conventional fibers arranged to form a fabric.
Abstract: A miniature lower cost optical sensing apparatus and method are provided for determining the concentration and/or hazard from a target gas by means of IR or visible photon monitoring one or more sensors that responds to carbon monoxide. The apparatus comprises a photon source optically coupled to the sensor and at least a portion of the photon intensity passing through the sensor is quantified by one or more photodiode(s) in a system, so that the photon flux is a function of at least one sensor's response to the target gas, e.g., transmits light through the sensor to the photodiode. The photo current from the photodiode is converted to a sensor reading value proportional to the optical characteristics of the sensors and is loaded into a microprocessor or other logic circuit. In the microprocessor, the sensor readings may be differentiated to determine the rate of change of the sensor readings and the total photons absorbed value may be used to calculate the CO concentration and/or dose.
Abstract: A computer-based system for providing coordinated health monitoring, emergency response, and medical record delivery. The system can include computing devices configured to process emergency-related indicators and data. The system can also include monitoring devices linked to the computing devices. The monitoring devices can monitor a particular area for the emergency-related indicators and data, where the monitoring devices detect among speech, sounds, images and other detectable emergency-related indicators. The monitoring devices can also transmit the emergency-related indicators and data to the computing devices. Furthermore, the system can include a module linked to the monitoring devices and configured to execute on the computing devices.

Abstract: A method of diagnosis. The method can include the steps of sampling the breathing of a patient and from the sampling, obtaining a waveform corresponding to a pattern of the breathing of the patient in which the waveform is a repetitive waveform that is indicative of a carbon dioxide concentration in air expired by the patient. The method can also include the steps of processing the waveform to obtain a set of data that reflects the carbon dioxide concentration in the expired air and based on the processing of the waveform, detecting a potential adverse respiratory event in the patient.
Abstract: A computer-based systems and methods for task processing in a computing device are provided. A method includes the step of entering a slice mode for at least one task, the entering comprising reserving one or more portions of a cache memory to yield a slice cache memory for the task. The method also includes the step of storing a slice in the slice cache memory, wherein the slice comprises at least one program residing in at least one memory space outside of the slice cache memory and associated with the at least one task. The method further includes the step of processing the at least one task utilizing the at least one program by accessing the at least one slice cache memory until the slice mode is terminated.
Abstract: A system for generating measurable indexes for providing a total wellness assessment of an individual is provided. The system can include a communications interface for accessing databases of population data derived from samplings of populations. The system further can include an integration and synthesis engine for generating weighting factors based upon a combination of the data, each weighting factor corresponding to a body region of the individual or to a health condition associated with the individual and based upon the population data. The system also can include a conditions capture engine for capturing individual-specific data corresponding to predetermined health conditions. The system can further include a modeling tool for combining the weighting factors with the individual-specific data.
Abstract: A computer-based system for monitoring product usage, value, and suitability for use or sale. The system can include one or more processors configured to process and manage data. Additionally, the system can also include product packaging comprising a machine-readable medium. Notably, the machine-readable medium can comprise product information among other types of information. The one or more processors can be configured for receiving the product information of the machine-readable medium. The machine-readable medium and corresponding medication information can be adjusted based automated signals or interactive signals, where the signals are generated based on current or historical data regarding the product or the packaging.
