  • Publication number: 20250067043
Abstract: A modular building and a pair of mating modules thereof are described. A first module of the pair comprises a male connector projecting from a first face of the first module to form a cylindrical projection terminated by a hemispherically shaped terminus. A second module of the pair comprises a female connector comprising a rigid plate having therethrough an aperture dimensioned to receive the terminus and at least a portion of the cylindrical projection so as to permit the inter-connection of the modules by off-level installation. A second-face male connector is disposed on a second face of the first module opposite the first face. The second-face male connector projects from the second face to form a second-face cylindrical projection terminated by a hemispherically shaped second-face terminus suitable to be received by a corresponding female connector of a corresponding module of the modular building.

  • Patent number: 12163328
Abstract: A self-aligning module for a self-sealing modular building includes a male connector projecting from a first side of the module to form a cylindrical projection terminated by a terminus having a hemispherical shape, the male connector being dimensioned for being received by a female connector having an aperture dimensioned to receive the terminus and at least a portion of the cylindrical projection so as to permit the module to be connected to the female connector by off-level installation. The module may include a module gasket for self-sealing against an adjacent module. A method of assembling the modular building involves: (a) off-level contacting the terminus to the female connector; and (b) aligning the module and the adjacent module such that the cylindrical projection is received by the female connector. The male connector may be bolted to the female connector, bolted to another male connector, and/or locked by a key-lock system.

  • Publication number: 20130305629
Abstract: A modular building system in which individual cuboid modules are assembled at a manufacturing facility, optimized for transportation, and transported to a building site by conventional delivery systems. On site, the modules may be modularly assembled into multi-modular buildings. Buildings may be assembled by attaching together a plurality of the structurally self-supporting modules. The modules may be attached horizontally adjacent or vertically adjacent one another using a variety of specialized, interchangeable adaptors. The modules may also be offset horizontally, vertically or perpendicularly to one another.
