Abstract: Structures of direct current motors or ac commutator (Universal) motors which use a concentrated winding on the rotor with coils wound around the teeth. The number of commutator segments is higher than the number of rotor teeth. Several coils are wound around the same tooth. The terminals of the coils are connected to different segments of the commutator. The parallel paths of the armature winding are perfectly balanced. An equal current distribution through the parallel circuits of the armature is maintained and there is no circulation current between these parallel circuits. The problems related to commutation are reduced because the value of the coil inductances is low. The copper volume of the end-windings, the Joule losses and the axial length of the motor armature are lower than a lap or a wave winding with interlocked coils. Two kinds of structures with a concentrated winding are presented: some with rotor teeth with identical dimensions and some with rotor teeth with different dimensions.
Abstract: A magnetic circuit component having a plurality of claws arranged in a plurality of rows, with the base of each claw connected to a common yoke. A plurality of non-interlaced coils constituting a multi-phase winding are included, with the coils being wound around the bases of corresponding claws, and being distributed uniformly in the direction of motion.

Abstract: An iron-graphite composite powder having a microstructure comprising carbon clusters embedded in a ferrous matrix is disclosed. Also disclosed is a process for preparing the iron-graphite composite powder, a process for preparing sintered articles from this composite powder and the sintered articles prepared thereby.

Abstract: A steel powder consisting of a combination of purified steel and prealloyed manganese, chromium, molybdenum and nickel. The steel powder is used in the production of metal parts using powder metallurgy. The addition of the prealloyed elements results in a metal part having greater strength and hardness with a low oxygen content and good compressibility.
Abstract: A method of making a metal composite part by compacting a metal powder composition in a die whose wall surfaces have been electrostatically coated with a lubricant, thereby eliminating or reducing a lubricant in the metal powder composition, resulting in a metal composite having greater density and strength. The method further includes providing an electrostatic charge to the metal powder composition. A powder metallurgy apparatus is also provided.

Abstract: An improved metallurgical powder composition of a ferrous powder and at least one of an alloying powder, a lubricant or other additive. Lining, dusting and/or segregation of the composition is prevented by use of a polyvinyl pyrrolidone binding agent.
