Patent number: 6930411Abstract: An essentially iron-free linear motor for a sewing device or sewing machine produces and controls the pressure on the material being sewn by means of a drive rod, with a tubular housing, with at least two annular permanent magnets located therein. Each of the magnets has a north pole and a south pole and is magnetized radially, each in a different magnetization direction, and with a coil divided into at least two partial coils wound in opposite directions and each associated with a permanent magnet, whereby the partial coils and the permanent magnets are mutually displace, involving drive rod, in a magnetic lock that is effected by the housing, by a core in the form of center piece, and an air gap with the coil. The partial coils are located inside housing and the permanent magnets are located between said coils and the center piece.Type: GrantFiled: November 19, 2002Date of Patent: August 16, 2005Assignee: Quick-Rotan Elektromotoren GmbHInventors: Michael Berghaus, Mirco Jelusic, Michael Kaiser, Michael Lambrecht, Eberhard Wehner

Patent number: 6564732Abstract: An actuating device intended for a sewing device or sewing machine includes a material pressing device for holding down the material to be sewn during stitch formation and transport, and at least one linear motor which serves as regulating element for the material pressing device. The drive rod of the actuating element is connected to the material pressing device so as to control the pressure the pressing device exerts on the material to be sewn. The drive rod is linked to the pressing device via at least one elastic low-mass coupling element and the pressing device can be placed by the linear motor back and forth between a raised and a lowered position.Type: GrantFiled: July 5, 2001Date of Patent: May 20, 2003Assignee: Quick-Rotan Elektromotoren GmbHInventors: Sevki Hosagasi, Helmet Jung, Michael Kilian

Patent number: 4643282Abstract: A motor including an electromagnetically actuated friction clutch and friction brake for respectively transferring a driving torque and/or a braking torque to an output shaft. A rigid hub is rotationally fixed on an output shaft of the motor for rotation therewith. A first axially deflectable spring washer is connected to an annular shaped clutch disk, with a second axially deflectable spring washer being connected to a brake disk. The clutch disk and brake disk are axially movable by a magnetic force and are adapted to be pressed against a driving pulley and a braking block respectively. The hub is fashioned as a one piece member and a supporting ring is disposed axially between the clutch disk and the brake disk.Type: GrantFiled: June 1, 1984Date of Patent: February 17, 1987Assignee: Quick-Rotan Elektromotoren GmbHInventor: Josef Edl
