Abstract: An asynchronous game action system and method. Some embodiments provide a simulated client-server simulated action game in which displayed action leads to a game outcome. In some simulated reel game embodiments, user initiation of game play causes simulated reel spinning and client issuance of a request to the server provide a game outcome. While the simulated reel spinning takes place, the client awaits receipt of information from the server allowing the client to provide simulated stopped reels showing the game outcome with game outcome symbols displayed on the simulated reels. In some embodiments, one or more symbols can be substituted on the simulated spinning reels while reel spinning takes place or afterward.
