Abstract: A low-cost fabrication technique, readily extensible to volume manufacturing is presented for thin strip solar cells. A wafer structure is disclosed for formation of thin strips. Plurality of strips is formed and mechanically supported by a thin layer of silicon with uneven surface. Processing methods are also disclosed to fabricate solar cells.
Abstract: Microtanks are formed in capped holey fibers. Holey fiber is composed of a shell, a porous layer and a hollow core. Compressed gas can be stored in plurality of microtanks at elevated pressure. A method of storing and releasing hydrogen gas in or out of a plurality of microtanks is also disclosed.
Abstract: Directional light beam generators are implemented in waveguides with tilted core structures. The waveguides have cores, cladding and jacket layers. A directional light beam with small divergent beam angle is generated after propagating through the waveguides. Divergent light beams with large beam sizes can be converted into beams with small sizes.
