  • Patent number: 9309911
Abstract: A flexible roofing fastener is provided for securing water resistant material to a substrate such as wood and preventing leaks through holes created in the material by the roofing fastener. The roofing fastener includes a resilient disk having a flat lower surface, a thick central region and an annular region having a thickness that tapers downwardly from a central area toward a periphery. The disk central region has a plurality of evenly spaced apart flat-headed nails extending downwardly there through. The annular region having plurality of holes through which sealing material can flow. A flexible disk, when upload flexes in a cup shape causing wedge effect on the anchoring points in the substrate, allowing this fastener to perform better when under a simulated wind uplift testing of various modified bitumen Roof Systems.

  • Patent number: 6775940
Abstract: A safety device for use with a toy guns, less-lethal guns (such as non-powdered guns) and lethal guns detects motion of the gun, and causes light emitting diodes or other light sources incorporated into the gun to prominently flash. The flashing light sources alert bystanders in a way that distinguishes lethal firearms from toy guns and less-lethal guns. The flashing diodes can also be activated when the gun is armed, cocked or otherwise ready to be fired. Motion is detected through the use of an electric circuit that includes a spring, an oscillating mass, and a ring adapted to surround the oscillating mass.

  • Patent number: 6131404
Abstract: A method and a container for storing or transporting goods, in particular food products in a frozen and/or chilled state, include a conditioned room where the goods are placed. The room is conditioned by means of a refrigerating medium, for instance solid carbon dioxide, arranged above the room, the refrigerating medium and the room being divided by an insulated panel. A variety of insulated panels can be provided between the refrigerating medium and the room so as to maintain a required amount of cold transfer between the refrigerant and the room. The amount of refrigerating medium can be varied in accordance with specifications such as the assumed duration of the transport/storage, the required storage temperature and a predicted average of the ambient temperature.

  • Patent number: 5899535
Abstract: There is disclosed a rock crushing apparatus having a frame, an anvil mounted therein and a mounting for a rotor. The rotor has hammer elements disposed thereon for cooperation with the anvil. The rotor includes an outside surface, a plurality of recesses in spaced relation about the outside surface and a plurality of rotor protection members for protecting the rotor. The rotor protection members are releasably mounted in the recesses and extend outwardly of the outside surface of the rotor means for preventing wear of the outside surface. The hammer elements are releasably mounted in the recesses and in alternation with the rotor protection elements and extend outwardly of the rotor protection members. The hammer elements lift and pulverize the rock material. This arrangement has been found to be more effective than any of the prior art arrangements due to the configuration of the hammer elements and their disposition on the rotor.

  • Patent number: 5778623
Abstract: The present invention provides a roofing fastener, a roofing assembly including the roofing fastener, and a method of installing the roofing fastener into the roofing assembly. The roofing fastener includes a head and a shank integrally connected thereto. The shank and the thread thereon permits the roofing fastener to be self-tapping and threaded into a base substrate such as a concrete deck. Preferably, the roofing fastener includes a polygonal socket within nubbins thereon to squeeze about a drill bit. Also, ideally the head of the roofing fastener is round and has a diameter which is greater than the length of the shank. Ideally, the fastener is made of a low-moisture material which can absorb water from the surrounding substrate causing the fastener to swell and increase its holding power.

  • Patent number: 5692864
Abstract: The present invention discloses a self-tapping anchor and a method of installing the anchor into a wall. The anchor includes a flange portion, a drill end portion, and an intermediate shank portion. The intermediate shank portion has a central bore therein for receiving a fastener. An external thread is formed on the shank portion for threading the anchor into the wall. The shank portion is divided by a slot into a pair of leg portions and the external thread is divided into a plurality of discrete thread segments. The drill end portion supports the leg portions to prevent relative twisting therebetween during anchor installation into a wall. A reduced thickness web portion, or alternatively, a through slot, is formed in the drill end portion. When the threaded fastener is threaded into the central bore, the fastener causes the drill end portion to split apart releasing the leg portions so that the leg portions diverge to provide better anchor securement to the wall.

  • Patent number: 5203149
Abstract: A slope mower which can tilt a tractor body upslope about pivot points on the front and rear axles during operations on sloping terrain. The slope mower has a novel all geared powered belly mower and also has a novel mower lifting system. The slope mower also has a novel three point hitch attached to the tractor axle which allows for attaching utility devices but does not interfere with the tilting mechanism. The slope mower also has the ability to transfer engine power to the rear of the slope mower. Upon removal of the belly mower, a power take off is extended through both the front axle pivot point and the rear axle pivot point. This allows engine power to be transferred to a rear utility device without affecting the tilting ability of the slope mower. Reinforced caster wheels are attached to the belly mower.
