  • Patent number: 6854373
Abstract: A blade holder and adapter for a scroll saw includes a slider within a slot in a scroll saw arm, with a retainer on the slider for receiving a scroll saw blade holder. An adjuster on the slider allows the slider to move within the slot and may be tightened to retain the slider in a fixed position. Moving the slider within the slot changes the angle of the blade relative to the table of the scroll saw.

  • Patent number: 5520081
Abstract: A multiple position blade holding apparatus for a parallel arm scroll saw having a connection for varying the angle of the blade relative to the work surface achieves an optimum cutting action for the thickness of the material being cut. The blade holder may be strategically angled to avoid bowing of the blade or to keep a work piece from lifting up as it is cut.

  • Patent number: 5103880
Abstract: A machine for shaping the panels, rails and stiles used to construct raised panel doors. A motor driven arbor shaft carries three different cutters which bevel the panel edges, groove the edges of the rails and stiles and shape the ends of the rails complementally to the grooved edges of the stiles. Adjustable fences guide the workpieces through the cutters along strips which rest on the table and are of various thicknesses to accommodate cutters of different sizes. A carriage travels in a guided manner along the fence used for the cutting of the ends of the rails and is equipped with a quick release clamp for securing the rails in position as their ends are fed through the cutter.

  • Patent number: 5088369
Abstract: An auxiliary blade tensioning device for a scroll saw 10 permits quick selective adjustment of the tension of the blade 20. A scroll saw 10 utilizing the blade tensioning device of the invention preferably includes a pair of arms 14 and 16 mounted on a frame 12 for cooperative support of a saw blade 20 and reciprocation by a power assembly 18. The uppermost, articulated arm 14 is coupled with a camming mechanism 22 for quick, selective tensioning of a replacement saw blade 20.

  • Patent number: 4838138
Abstract: A scroll saw blade clamp and blade alignment tool to facilitate blade changes while assuring proper positioning and alignment of the blade. The blade clamp is for the upper end of the blade and includes a pair of clamp bars, one of which is pivoted to the upper saw arm. A locking screw clamps the bars together for clamping of the blade, and a strategically located pin prevents relative rotation of the clamp bars and also serves as a blade guide to properly locate the blade while it is being clamped in place. The alignment device takes the form of a flat bar provided with a recess for holding the lower blade clamp. A groove in the bar is centered on the recess to properly align a saw blade received in the groove.

  • Patent number: 4646605
Abstract: A precision woodworking saw having a variable speed drive mechanism which drives a saw blade carried on a reciprocating C arm. An electric motor has a drive shaft carrying a split drive pulley which drives a split driven pulley through a V-belt. The driven pulley is mounted on a driven shaft which reciprocates the C arm through an eccentric drive arm. The pulley sections of the split pulleys are movable toward and away from one another to vary the pitch of each pulley and its effective diameter. An adjustment knob can be turned to adjust both pulleys simultaneously to vary the speed ratio between the driven shaft and drive shaft as desired to control the speed at which the saw blade is driven.

  • Patent number: 4492354
Abstract: A collapsible stand for an upright vertical support is the subject of this invention. A U-shaped bracket holds a roller and is mounted on a telescoping stanchion by use of a set screw in the collar of the bracket. The stanchion is in turn supported by a stand, the base portion of which comprises three legs which are bolted to two horizontal plates positioned one above the other. The lower plate is larger than the upper plate and thereby determines the angle of disposition of the legs. The stand is collapsible by disengaging the legs from the plates and dismounting the bracket and roller assembly from the stanchion.

  • Patent number: 4394878
Abstract: This invention relates to a combination planar molder for wood products. A support framework mounts a removable shaft for mounting either a planing knife or a molding bit. The shaft is mounted in bearing means at least one of which is pivotal about its housing so as to permit the shaft to be raised and lowered at an angle and slipped laterally for insertion and removal. This allows one shaft to be utilized for the planing head and a separate shaft to be utilized for a molding head. This eliminates time consuming balancing of the shaft as a result of changing a conventional planing head into a molding head.
