Abstract: A connection piece (111) for a plug-in connection of a fluid-carrying system of lines for distributing drinking water within stories is formed without a supporting nipple. The connection piece (111) has in the region of an inner lateral surface of the first tubular part a first peripheral guiding surface (122) and a second peripheral guiding surface (117), arranged behind the first guiding surface (122) with respect to an insertion opening of the connection piece (111), for the second tubular part (160). A first axial extent of the first guiding surface (122) and a second axial extent of the second guiding surface (117) respectively make up each at least one sixth of an inside diameter of the first tubular part (112, 120). The connection piece (111) may form part of a fitting or a faucet and is suitable in particular for use with solid plastic pipes, for example of crosslinked polyethylene.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a copper alloy, in particular for components which carry media or drinking water, in particular fittings, valves or compression joints and also an advantageous use of the copper alloy and components for lines carrying media or drinking water. It is an object of the present invention to provide a copper alloy which has good corrosion resistance, good castability and mechanical workability and also good mechanical properties and displays good migration values, particularly in respect of the migration of lead and nickel ions into drinking water. The copper alloy provided for this purpose by the present invention comprises from 2% by weight to 4.5% by weight of silicon, from 1 to 15% by weight of zinc and from 0.05% by weight to 2% by weight of manganese. Furthermore, from 0.05 to 0.4% by weight of aluminium and from 0.05 to 2% by weight of tin can optionally be present. As balance, the copper alloy contains copper and unavoidable impurities.

  • Patent number: 5351996
Abstract: A device serving as a coupling between a flexible pipe conduit (1) installed underneath plaster and a fitting arranged above the plaster comprises a casing (4, 5a, 5b, 6) and a pipe elbow (3) insertable in the casing (4, 5a, 5b, 6) and fixable therein. The casing is fashioned so that the pipe elbow can be connected to the pipe conduit (1) in two different ways. In one type of mounting, the inner pipe (1) is bent out of the wall, the pipe elbow (3) is attached thereto, and the entire arrangement is then placed into the casing (4). In the second type, the pipe conduit is connected to the pipe elbow (3) which latter is inserted in the casing head (4) and attached therein. The casing neck consists of two half shells (5a, 5b) encompassing the clamping ring closure (10) projecting in the downward direction from the casing head (4), as well as a section of the pipe conduit (1 ). The casing neck fixedly clamps the outer pipe (2) in place and thereby prevents slipping out of this outer pipe.

  • Patent number: 4911204
Abstract: An annular chamber (8) is formed between a pipeline section (1) and a housing (5, 6) surrounding same. This annular chamber is in communication, via openings (10, 11) in the wall of the pipeline section (1), with the interior (12) of the latter. An air-filled hose ring (16) is arranged in the annular chamber (8). The device damps the pressure surges occurring in domestic installations on account of the rapid closing of quick shutoff elements, for example lever mixers. The danger of damage to the pipelines and fittings is thereby avoided.
