Patent number: 6564954Abstract: In a rope hoist (9), the rope drum (17) is rotatably mounted in a roughly C-shaped frame (13). To mount the rope drum (17), an appropriate bearing arrangement 37) is provided at one side, whereas at the other side the mounting of the rope drum (17) is effected solely via the output shaft (61) of the gearing (19). Distortions in the frame (13 ) on account of unavoidable alignment errors are absorbed by the torsionally nonrigid frame (13).Type: GrantFiled: February 16, 1999Date of Patent: May 20, 2003Assignee: R. Patent number: 6516728Abstract: In a travelling trolley assembly, the two side frame bars (6, 7) which extend on either side of the running rail (2) are connected to one another via two connecting columns (8). The connecting columns (8) are smooth and cylindrical on the outside are fitted into receiving or sliding-guidance devices which are formed in the side frame bars (6, 7) below the running rail (2). In order to adjust the distance between the two side frame bars (6, 7) and to fix the distance which has been set, receiving devices, through which a threaded rod (46) which is parallel to the connecting column (8) passes, are situated in the vicinity of the connecting columns (8). The distance is adjusted and fixed with the aid of screw threads (94, 95), preferably lock nuts, which rest on the connecting rod (46). This type of fixing arrangement does not damage the shape of the guide columns (8), so that dismantling is easy to carry out at any time.Type: GrantFiled: January 20, 1999Date of Patent: February 11, 2003Assignee: R. Patent number: 6497400Abstract: In a rope hoist (9), the output shaft (37) of the gearing (19) is provided in one piece with an end plate (57). This end plate (57) is designed in such a way that it can be inserted into a locating seat (66) of the tubular rope drum (17). The end plate (57) is screwed in the rope drum (17) by means of radial fitting screws (72). There is also a recess (67) at the other end of the rope drum (17), and a similar end plate (75) can be fastened in this recess (67) in the same manner. This other end plate carries a bearing journal (76). On account of this arrangement, the manufacture of the rope drum (17) and the entire assembly are simplified, complicated shaft joints between the output shaft (37) and the rope drum (17) being dispensed with on account of the mounting of the rope drum (17) by means of the output shaft (37) of the gearing (19). In addition, the rope hoist (9) may be split up into comparatively small subassemblies for dispatch.Type: GrantFiled: February 16, 1999Date of Patent: December 24, 2002Assignee: R. Patent number: 5899441Abstract: In an electric chain hoist, there is a slipping clutch in the drive line which connects the electric motor to the chain sprocket, the slipping clutch acting as an overload safeguard. A holding brake is also provided to hold the drive line in the braked state when the motor is switched off. The brake exerts its braking action primarily on that part of the drive line which lies between the slipping clutch and the chain sprocket. To prevent the slipping clutch from entering the slipping state when the motor is switched on before the brake has been released to a sufficient extent, the brake is designed in such a way that it acts on both parts of the drive line.Type: GrantFiled: February 27, 1996Date of Patent: May 4, 1999Assignees: R. Patent number: 5853165Abstract: A chain hoist contains a slipping overload clutch in the drive line which connects the electric motor to the chain sprocket. This slipping clutch has two clutch halves which are in frictional engagement with one another and are preloaded into frictional engagement with one another by a spring. A holding brake is furthermore provided and this holding brake acts against the clutch disks so as to increase the frictional grip between the clutch disks in the applied state. This ensures that when the hoist is started and the disengagement of the brake is delayed, the slipping clutch does not enter the slipping state.Type: GrantFiled: February 27, 1996Date of Patent: December 29, 1998Assignees: R. Patent number: 5811945Abstract: A travel drive for a trolley traveling gear of hoists has a drive train which has the properties of a freewheel as regards the direction of travel. Consequently load oscillation can be rapidly damped out because the speed of the traveling gear is not forcibly held constant during the semioscillation of the load in which it moves ahead of the traveling gear. On the contrary, the swinging load is able to drag the traveling gear behind it, accelerating it in the process, and in this way to convert oscillation energy into driving energy.Type: GrantFiled: March 20, 1996Date of Patent: September 22, 1998Assignees: R. Patent number: 5751126Abstract: An electric drive for the vehicle or traveling mechanism of a lifting appliance contains a control which controls the switching on of the mechanical brake and the switching of the motor current off and on again. In this case, there is provision, in the event of a changeover from a high traveling speed to slow maneuvering speed, for the mechanical brake to remain released until the maneuvering speed is approached. During this phase, the vehicle is decelerated solely by the internal friction and the rolling friction on the rail, in order to avoid inducing any or any additional load pendulum oscillation.Type: GrantFiled: March 21, 1996Date of Patent: May 12, 1998Assignee: R. Patent number: 5023434Abstract: A position indicating apparatus, particularly for overhead transport systems (1), includes a elongated code carrier (11) carrying multi-value code marks (17) along its length. A code reading device (12) secured on a transport carrier (4), such as a trolley, crane, or other traveling mechanism, reads the code marks on the code carrier. To prevent erroneous reading when the transport carrier (4) and thus the code reading device (12) is tilted or skewed with respect to the code carrier, and to ensure accuracy of position of reading of the code carrier, the code marks (17) are arranged on the code carrier (11), one next to another in a single row or track, and formed such that m of the code marks provides one code word, the code words being positioned one next to each other and appear only once, or are unique along the entire code carrier.Type: GrantFiled: July 20, 1989Date of Patent: June 11, 1991Assignee: R.
