Abstract: A stern-drive unit for boats with an inclined hull, wherein the mechanical units are separated from the supporting structure, which is made in the form of a structure (10) supporting parts (7, 5) which transmit motion from an inverter (6) to the propeller, consisting a plate (11) to be attached to the keel of the boat, to which are connected a pair of V-shaped arms with a first sleeve (15) fitted at the lower ends thereof, and a third arm with a second sleeve (16) fitted at the lower end thereof, said sleeves (15, 16) housing a box (17) to which lead propeller shaft (5) and a shaft (7) orthogonal to it, leading from a motion inverter, seal means being fitted between said box (17) and said shafts (5, 7). The drive is light and easily adaptable at low cost to the various keel configurations used by different boat builders.

Abstract: A drive unit comprising a transmission with two coaxial bevel gears (11, 12) fitted opposite one another on the same engine shaft (10), which engage a bevel gear (13) fitted to a shaft (14) perpendicular to the preceding one, a device designed to mesh the engine shaft with one or other of the bevel gears, constituted by clutches (20, 21) housed in the body of the bevel gears (12, 11) and controlled by a pressurised fluid, wherein pipes (24, 25), designed to convey the pressurised fluid, are formed in the engine shaft (10), wherein, in order to supply pressurised oil to the pipes (24, 25), an axial inlet pipe (34) is formed in the head of the engine shaft (10), which the axial pipe (34) feeds a distributor (35) constituted by a valve that slides on the engine shaft, which the slide valve (35) can move between two positions in which it places the input pipe (34) in communication with one of the pipes (24, 25).

The elements are constituted by clutches, each housed in a closed seating inside the body of the bevel gears. The engine shaft is mounted on a pair (or more) of bearings which are mounted on the housing of the device, and the opposite bevel gears are each fitted on one side to a bearing mounted on the housing and on the opposite side to at least one bearing, which in turn is mounted on a central support integral with the casing, so as to discharge the reaction forces onto the structure of the housing, and not onto the other rotating parts.
