Abstract: A material placer includes conveyors on a frame for receiving material from a side dump trailer and conveying the material to a placing location. The conveyors can include a receiving conveyor for receiving material from the side dump trailer through an opening in a side of the placer, a funneling auger for funneling the material so it flows along a narrow flow path, a transfer conveyor for lifting the material after it is dumped from the side dump trailer, and/or a placing conveyor for placing the material at the placing location. The placing conveyor can be movable between a stowed position and a conveying position. A drive system for the conveyor may be located within a conveyor pulley to reduce the envelope of the material placer.

Abstract: A pneumatic tank trailer includes a carriage and a tank supported on the trailer that can selectively discharge fluidizable material through hoppers of the tank. A nose portion of the trailer has a generally conical shape. The nose portion has a top that slopes downward and sides that taper inward as it extends forward. A cross-sectional center point of a front end of the nose portion is lower than a cross-sectional center point of a rear end of the nose portion along the height of the trailer. The length of the nose portion is at least 15% of the length of the trailer. Adjacent hoppers intersect at hopper crotches. The hopper crotches have short heights and the hoppers are arranged relatively close together.

Abstract: A pneumatic tank trailer is described. A front end cover is positioned over a front portion of the pneumatic tank trailer. The front end cover partially covers and attaches to a front end cone of the tank. The front end cover also covers plumbing and fittings for a pressurization system of the pneumatic tank trailer. The front end cover improves the aerodynamics of the trailer by providing a smooth surface with a large radius transition from the front cover to the tank.

Abstract: A pneumatic tank trailer that is structurally reinforced in a fuel efficient manner. The trailer includes a tank defined by hoppers and tank walls. Internal frames are joined to the tank at locations where adjacent hoppers meet. The frames extend circumferentially around the tank interior. In some embodiments, the frames are multi-piece assemblies. In certain embodiments, each frame includes a cross joist portion extending between opposite tank sides at a location spaced apart from the top and bottom of the tank. In some embodiments, front and rear frames include an internal portion that extends along the sides and top of the tank and an external portion that extends underneath the tank.
