Publication number: 20100268720Abstract: Systems and methods for automatic mapping of a location identifier pattern of an object to a semantic type using object metadata are disclosed. In one aspect, embodiments of the present disclosure include a method, which may be implemented on a system, of identifying a set of tags associated with a website that is hosted by a web server. The method further includes, detecting a web page in the website in which a tag of the set of tags is identified, extracting a pattern from a Universal Resource Locator (URL) of the web page, and/or storing the pattern in a database embodied in a machine-readable storage medium as being mapped to the semantic type. The tag corresponds to a semantic type with which the content embodied in the web page has a semantic relationship and the pattern corresponds to the semantic type with which the content embodied in the web page has a semantic relationship.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 22, 2009Publication date: October 21, 2010Applicant: Radar Networks, Inc.Inventors: Nova T. Publication number: 20100057815Abstract: A data construct called a semcard is a semantic (meaning-based) software object including semantic meta-tags and meta-data that describes a target object or thing. A target object can be any type of digital or physical entity or identifier, or it can be tacit knowledge, such as ideas, concepts, processes or other data existing in a user's mind, provided that the user represents this knowledge in the semcard. A semcard embodies information about its own structure—rules, history, state, policies and goals regarding automation, display, access permissions, sharing and other operations of the semcard and any optional target object. It can also represent a semantic link between two semcards, or a semantically typed link or a standard Web hyperlink between a semcard and its referent target. A collection of semcards represents a knowledge network; single semcards, and knowledge networks, can be browsed, shared, searched, disseminated, manipulated, displayed, organized, and stored.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 10, 2009Publication date: March 4, 2010Applicant: Radar Networks, Inc.Inventors: Nova Spivack, Kristinn R. Thorisson

Publication number: 20080306959Abstract: The patent describes a single location and application on a network where a user can organize public, group, and private/personal information and have this single, location accessible to the public. A new, ontology-driven portal that organizes all three categories of data according to various “facets” using underlying ontologies to define each “facet” and wherein any type of information can be classified and linked to other types of information is disclosed. An application that enables a user to effectively utilize and manage knowledge and data the user posses and allows other users to effectively and seamlessly benefit from the user's knowledge and data over a computer network is also disclosed. A method of processing content created by a user utilizing a semantic, ontology-driven portal on a computer network is described. The semantic portal application provides the user with a content base, such as a semantic form or meta-form, for creating a semantic posting.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 22, 2008Publication date: December 11, 2008Applicant: Radar Networks, Inc.Inventors: Nova Spivack, Kristinn R. Publication number: 20080189267Abstract: Among other disclosure, computer-implemented methods and computer program products for obtaining data from a page. A method can include initiating a harvesting process for a page available in a computer system. The method can include identifying a feed representation that has been created for the page. The method can include retrieving and storing, as part of the harvesting process, at least a portion from the page based on information in the identified feed representation. The feed representation can include at least excerpts of content from the page. The feed representation can include at least one representation selected from: an RSS feed, an Atom feed, an XML feed, an RDF feed, a serialized data feed representation, and combinations thereof.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 7, 2007Publication date: August 7, 2008Applicant: RADAR NETWORKS, INC.Inventors: Nova Spivack, Christopher W. In one aspect, embodiments of the present disclosure include a method, which may be implemented on a system of, managing a semantic collection. One embodiment can include, receiving a request to create the semantic collection comprising a set of semantic objects, creating a semantic link between the set of semantic objects via updating metadata associated with the set of semantic objects, and identifying a set of rules to be associated with the semantic collection. In one embodiment, the metadata associated with the set of semantic objects is undated based on the set of rules. In a further aspect, embodiments of the present disclosure include a method of tracking a semantic object.Type: GrantFiled: November 20, 2003Date of Patent: July 8, 2008Assignee: Radar Networks, Inc.Inventors: Nova Spivack, Kristinn R. Publication number: 20040220893Abstract: In a semcard management application, a user interface that consists of several panels that facilitate the use of semcards, the objects they represent, and the knowledge network is described. These panels include an entry point panel, a filter panel, a results panel, and a viewer. One category of entry points is referred to as “context” entry points. Contexts allow semcards to be organized into hierarchically arranged categories. After the user has created a context, this context can be used as an entry point to a set of semcards meeting a certain criteria.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 20, 2003Publication date: November 4, 2004Applicant: Radar Networks, Inc.Inventors: Nova Spivack, Kristinn R.
