Patents Assigned to Radian International LLC
  • Patent number: 6321587
Abstract: A gaseous fluorine detection system is provided which includes a generally enclosed sample cell containing a substrate comprising a material which interacts with fluorine gas to generate radiant energy. A gas sample of fluorine, the concentration levels of which are to be evaluated is flowed through the cell. A photomultiplier tube is positioned to receive the resulting radiant energy and generate an electrical output signal related to the level of said radiant energy. Means are provided for measuring the said photomultiplier output signal and relating same to the fluorine concentration of the gas sample provided to the cell.

  • Patent number: 6235204
Abstract: A method for removing the oxy-anions of selenium from FGD scrubber purge water. The purge water is contacted with free hydroxyl radicals to effect oxidation of reduced forms of sulfur to sulfate and the destruction of sulfur-nitrogen compounds present in the purge water. The purge water is then subjected to chemical reduction and co-precipitation of selenium with an amount of ferrous ions effective to remove the oxy-anions of selenium in the liquid in less than 30 minutes of reaction time. The resultant ferrous-selenium solids generated are separated and stabilized to elemental selenium in a separate reaction vessel.

  • Patent number: 5920282
Abstract: A digitally-controlled pulse shaper (DCPS) is provided which precisely controls the shape of the leading and trailing edges of a transmit pulse in a radar wind profiler, or pulsed-radar. In the case of pulse coding, where phase transitions are used to segment an otherwise longer pulse, the intra-pulse phase transitions are also shaped.

  • Patent number: 5804081
Abstract: A wastewater treatment system has been created in which water to be treated is moved into a treatment vessel without pumping action of a pump. Such movement is facilitated by creating and, in some aspects, maintaining a vacuum in the treatment vessel to effect siphoning action to move water to and through the vessel. In one embodiment the treatment vessel is contained within a wastewater collection container, e.g. a below-grade concrete pit of an existing wastewater collection system. In another aspect the system is sealed so undesirable vapors are not vented to the atmosphere.
