    Abstract: An audio/video switching system is described that selectively enables multiple heterogeneous audio/video sources to transmit data to a single audio/video sink such as a display or audio/video repeater. The audio/video switching system supports format conversion to enable, for example, multiple different audio/video formats to be transmitted to the audio/video sink using a single link. In some implementations, the single link is a high-bandwidth, high-quality wireless link for carrying high definition and standard definition audio/video signals. Various home theater systems that include such an audio/video switching system are also described herein.

    Abstract: The present invention is directed to methods and apparatus for improving error indication performance in systems employing low-density parity check (LDPC) codes. In one aspect, a method and apparatus for providing error indication based on full LDPC parity check re-encoding are provided. In an embodiment, an LDPC encoder is employed at the receiver to re-encode the parity bits. In another embodiment, the parity bits are re-encoded recursively based on information readily available at the decoder of the receiver. In another aspect, a method and apparatus for providing error indication based on partial LDPC parity check re-encoding are provided. In an embodiment, partial checksum information is determined based on the decoder output and used to provide error indication. In a further aspect, a hybrid CRC checking and LDPC parity check re-encoding approach is provided. This approach further enhances error indication performance by reducing the miss probability compared to pure LDPC parity check re-encoding.

    Abstract: The present invention is directed to a system, method, and apparatus to transmit/receive TMDS signals using general purpose differential transmitter and receivers. In an embodiment, the general purpose differential transmitter and receivers are designed to operate with differential signaling schemes such as LVDS and LVPECL. In one aspect, embodiments according to the present invention enable the re-configuration of existing and fully-characterized LVDS/LVPECL transmitter/receiver cells to support TMDS (using minimal sets of external components). This provides considerable cost and development time savings, thereby allowing the development of products much more expediently. In another aspect, embodiments according to the present invention provide interfacing methods and systems between differential signaling schemes such as LVDS/LVPECL and TMDS.

An embodiment of the invention eliminates unnecessary encoding overhead due to TMDS encoding in HD content delivery systems.
