Patents Assigned to Radius Networks, Inc.
  • Patent number: 9736006
Abstract: A generic address resolution system facilitates communications among multiple network applications with heterogeneous addressing mechanisms, thereby allowing the network applications to interoperate with each other and/or with modules for providing enhanced functionalities. The address resolution system includes a resource mapping module that modularizes the components needed for address resolution and abstracts content from the underlying address types and content used by the network applications. The address resolution system includes a context engine that analyzes the addressing data to be resolved, selects one or more appropriate destination network applications based on contextual rules, and creates the application mapping template for the end-end routing of the communications among the network applications.

  • Patent number: 9654909
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to broadcasting multiple packets at periodic intervals for receipt by other devices. A common device can transmit multiple beacon protocols simultaneously (i.e., an interleaving of different beacons), such that regardless of which protocol a receiving device supports, it may utilize advertisements from that common device (e.g., beacon). Thus, a single or common transmitting device may support multiple advertisements, such that the amount of hardware to be deployed in any network is reduced. Rather than deploying a device per beacon, a single device may be deployed and transmit multiple beacons.

  • Publication number: 20170041360
Abstract: The system and method of the present disclosure relates to technology for monitoring a broadcast device that is non-network connected. A wireless device monitors for a broadcast message transmitted wirelessly by the broadcast device. Upon discovery of the broadcast message, the wireless device transmits information from the broadcast message to a remotely located sever via a network. The server stores the broadcast information and determines the status (e.g., online or offline) of the broadcast device. The status is determined based on the detection time (e.g., the last seen time of the broadcast device by the wireless device) and an offline threshold value (e.g., a predetermined time period) that is compared to the current time or time upon which the server received the broadcast information. As a result of the comparison, the server determines whether the broadcast device is online or offline.

  • Publication number: 20160315982
Abstract: The system and method of the present disclosure relates to a remotely configurable wireless broadcast device connected to a network. The device includes a network connected computer and a proxy that interfaces with one or more non-network connected broadcast devices. The wireless broadcast device monitors the non-network connected broadcast devices and periodically reports the status for each of the devices. A server, remotely located from the configurable wireless broadcast device, receives and processes the status reports. The status reports may also be monitored by a user via a common user interface connected to the server. After processing the status reports, the server sends configuration data, including updated or modified information, back to the wireless broadcast device instructing the device to configure the non-network connected devices.

  • Publication number: 20160029302
Abstract: A system and method for managing content exchanges in a wireless network using a listener module. A listener module receives a message broadcast by a string broadcast station. The string broadcast station message includes a network information string. The listener module also receives a message broadcast by a wireless station. The wireless station message includes the MAC address of the wireless station. The listener module associates the network information string with the MAC address of the wireless station and stores the pair a list server device. The wireless station may then request a list from the list server device of network information strings associated with the MAC address of the wireless station.

  • Patent number: 9059995
Abstract: A gatekeeper device delegates an ability to access a resource to an access device by transmitting metadata, which includes access information for accessing the resource. The access device uses the metadata to retrieve the associated resource from a resource server. By transmitting the metadata in lieu of the resource, flexible use of the resources is implemented while enabling compliance with various restriction schemes. The system may condition the delegation or transfer of resource access on one or more factors, such as proximity between the gatekeeper device and the access devices. Using information about an access device, the resource server may optimize the resources for the receiving access device.

  • Patent number: 8938196
Abstract: A system and method for delivering content to a wireless station. An string broadcast station receives message content. The message content may, for example, be in the form of a coupon, an announcement, a menu, a news alert, directions and a link to additional content on a server. The string broadcast station parses the message content into one or more message parts. The message parts are transformed by the string broadcast station into one or more network information strings. The string broadcast station then broadcasts the one or more network information strings. A wireless station may receive the network information strings, determine the order in which the parts are to be assembled, and assemble the parts to obtain the message in its original form. A wireless station may also rebroadcast a message part for reception by other wireless stations.

  • Patent number: 8335174
Abstract: A system and method for registering network information strings. An information string server device receives a request to register a network information string from a computing device. The network information string may be included in a message broadcast by a string broadcast station. The information string server device determines whether the network information string has been previously registered with the information string server device. The information string server device stores the network information string in a record of an information string datastore when the network information string has not been previously registered with the information string server device. A registration acceptance message may be sent by the information string server device to the computing device when the network information string has not been previously registered with the information string server device.

  • Patent number: 8326260
Abstract: A system and method for managing an emergency over a wireless network. A wireless station receives an emergency information string broadcast by a string broadcast station. The string broadcast station is operated by law enforcement or other authorized personnel. A wireless station obtains the emergency information string and obtains an emergency alert message from a server. The message may be retransmitted by the wireless station. A listener module may be deployed that can be used to identify wireless stations that are within an area affected by the emergency and to provide the emergency alert message to the identified wireless stations.
