Abstract: A partition wall, upwardly movable into storage position and downwardly movable into vertical, down position. The wall comprises a plurality of similar trains of elongated members. The members of each train are arranged to form a single pantograph forming longitudinally aligned rows of diamonds. The trains are spaced laterally to form a wall plane and oriented so that the diamonds of the pantographs operate in a plane at a 90° angle to that wall plane. A plurality of panels are provided, each panel being secured to a pair of corresponding members in adjacent trains. The panels are secured to corresponding pairs of opposed sides of the diamonds. Means are provided to raise and lower the trains at a similar rate. The pantographs are contracted when the wall is in a storage position and the elongated when the wall is in down position. The panels form a vertical wall when the pantographs are elongated in down position.

Abstract: A mechanical curtain, upwardly movable into open position and downwardly movable into closed position, the curtain comprising: a) a plurality of similarly constructed trains of elongated members, the members of each train arranged to form a single pantograph forming longitudinally aligned rows of diamonds, the trains spaced laterally to form a curtain plane and oriented so that the diamonds of the pantographs operate in a plane at a 90° angle to that curtain plane, b) a plurality of bars secured in parallel spaced fashion to corresponding members in adjacent trains, perpendicular thereto, and, c) one or more cables to raise and lower the trains at a similar rate the pantographs being contracted when the curtain is in open position and the pantographs being elongated when the curtain is in closed position.

Abstract: A vertically foldable wall partition comprises a plurality of panels mounted to a number of horizontally spaced-apart vertically foldable skeleton framework. Each skeleton framework includes a number of pivotally interconnected arms which are adapted to be successively folded in a predetermined sequence. The sequential folding is controlled by a lifting mechanism. The vertically foldable wall partition further includes a universal sealing member which can be either used as an end seal or as a hinge seal.

Abstract: An artificial curling surface comprised of a rectangular-shaped sheet of plastic is disclosed. The sheet of plastic has a target zone and a hack at each end thereof. The sheet of plastic has a pebbled surface adapted to emulate ice pebbles on a sheet of ice of a curling rink. A curling rock having a replaceable gliding face can be used with the artificial curling surface. The replaceable gliding face of the curling rock is made of low-friction plastic having a density lower than the density of the plastic sheet.

Abstract: A plug door assembly for use in closing an opening in a wall. The assembly includes a door and rail means adapted to be mounted on the wall for use in longitudinally moving the door between an open position alongside the opening and an intermediate position opposite the opening. Mounting means movably mount the door on the rail means. The mounting means include means for laterally moving the door between the intermediate position and a closed position within the opening, and means for locking the door in the closed position with cooperating locking means on the wall.
