Abstract: There is disclosed in one example a method of observing continuous daylight adjustment (CDA) time, including: commencing at a first transition date observing an annual spring-forward period including lengthened social seconds, wherein a lengthened social second is longer than a standard scientific second; commencing at a second transition date observing an annual fall-back period including shortened social seconds, wherein a shortened social second is shorter than a standard scientific second; and computing and electronically displaying in a human-readable format a current social time different from a current scientific time.
