Patent number: 8807985Abstract: The present invention relates to an apparatus and method for forming molded tapered products, such as masonry blocks, whereby high quality finished products are removed from their mold without the need for complex machinery for demolding. The mold may include one or more mold cavities having one or more movable cavity walls. The movable cavity walls may include an end liner having a planar product forming surface capable of moving from a vertical position to an angled position. Tapered products may be formed by moving the mold towards a pallet so that the pallet engages with the end liner and causes the end liner to move from the vertical position to the angled position. Moldable material may then be introduced into the mold cavity and may be allowed to remain in the mold cavity until it is self-sustaining.Type: GrantFiled: November 14, 2013Date of Patent: August 19, 2014Assignee: Rampf Molds Industries, Inc.Inventor: Josef Ott

Patent number: 7291306Abstract: One embodiment of the present invention includes an assembly for stripping a medium from a mold cavity. The assembly may include at least one stripper shoe, a head structure, and a flexible plunger connecting the head structure and the at least one stripper shoe. The flexible plunger may include cutouts or openings along the length of the plunger to induce increased flexibility. The flexible plunger may include a first bending stiffness at one end of the plunger and a second bending stiffness the opposite end of the plunger. The cutouts may be configured such that the second bending stiffness is substantially less than the first bending stiffness. By increasing the flexibility of the plungers, the usable life of the assembly may be prolonged while maintaining product quality.Type: GrantFiled: August 1, 2005Date of Patent: November 6, 2007Assignee: Rampf Molds Industries Inc.Inventor: Vincent Ishler

Publication number: 20070009628Abstract: The present invention generally pertains to a locking pin system for installing a tamperhead into production machinery. The system may include at least one locking pin having a retaining groove which is mounted on the tamperhead. The system allows the tamperhead to move relative to the production machinery until the pin is locked with respect to the production machinery. The production machinery includes an opening which may be configured to receive the locking pin. During use, the pin may be inserted into the opening in the production machinery and the tamperhead may be moved into alignment. Once the tamperhead is aligned, the pin may be locked to prevent further movement of the tamperhead.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 6, 2006Publication date: January 11, 2007Applicant: Rampf Molds Industries, Inc.Inventor: Vincent Ishler
