Abstract: A reversible spring loaded lock slide assembly for use in locking a door latch is provided. The assembly includes a spring loaded slide case. A lock slide is in sliding engagement with the spring loaded slide case and has a first and second cavity. The lock slide has a contact member at one end and is capable of being placed in two orientations. A spring biases the lock slide relative to the spring loaded slide case.
Abstract: An offset handle assembly for use on a vehicle or structure comprising a tray that has a front side and back side, which also defines a recess. A handle is pivotal with respect to the tray. The handle is substantially located on the front side of the tray, and within the recess. A mechanical linkage is operatively connected to the handle. The mechanical linkage operates when the handle is turned. Also, an operating mechanism is operatively connected to the mechanical linkage. The operating mechanism is disposed on the back side of the tray and adjacent the recess so as to be laterally offset from the handle. Operation of the mechanical linkage causes the operating mechanism to operate.
Abstract: A locking mechanism and closure assembly are provided including a housing, a latch rotatably mounted to the housing, a spring member for urging the latch from a first position toward a second position, and a control member mounted to the housing for selectively securing the latch against rotation from the first position toward the second position. The control member may be slidably mounted relative to the housing, and may selectively rotate the latch from the first position toward the second position upon failure of the spring member. The latch may be positionable in a third position between the first and second positions, and may have a recess for receiving a striker designed for holding the striker within the recess at some times and guiding the striker into or out of the recess at other times.
Abstract: A latch assembly includes a tray having a front side and a back side with a cavity defined in the front side of the tray. A handle member is pivotally mounted to the tray at the front side. An actuating member is pivotally mounted relative to the tray on the back side of the tray and is operably connected to pivot with the handle member. An operating member is mounted on the back side of the tray and is movable between a locked position and an operating position. In the operating position, the operating member is contactable by the actuating member upon movement of the handle member. A latching mechanism is configured on the back side of the tray. The latching mechanism latches and unlatches upon a striker element, and is actuated by the operating member in the operating position upon movement of the handle member. In its locked position, the operating member is moved to a position to be out of contact with the actuating member even the though the handle member and actuating member are still freely rotatable.
Abstract: A truck box is provided including a chest, a lid, first and second latching mechanisms, and at least one locking mechanism and release mechanism. Two locking mechanisms and two release mechanisms may be provided. The locking and release mechanisms may be configured to provide ease of opening and closing the lid from either end of the box.
