Abstract: A storage unit having at least one movable storage module is provided. According to the invention, the storage unit includes at least one support device having at least one support rail. A carrying device interconnected to the storage module engages the support device, thereby carrying at least a first portion of the weight of the storage module. A rolling device interconnected to the storage module engages the floor to carry a second portion of the weight of the storage module. The provided storage unit allows heavy loads to be carried by the movable storage module along a path defined by the support device.
