The method comprising determining a presence and/or a level of antibodies in a biological sample of the subject, wherein the presence or level above a predetermined threshold is indicative of T1DM, thereby diagnosing T1DM in the subject. Also provided are a kit for diagnosing T1DM and a method of monitoring anti diabetic treatment.
