  • Patent number: 4537230
Abstract: The subject of the invention is an apparatus for moving dispensing pistons (5) and filling tubes (18) in the charging of containers, it being necessary on the one hand during the dispensing and depending on the filling product, to vary the rate and on the other hand to suit the travel rate of the filling tube to the rising filling level. This is achieved substantially by the fact that the dispensing piston (5) and the filling tube (18) are operated in each case with the assistance of screwed spindles (7 and 11), the drive being provided through infinitely variable electric motors (10, 12). Programmes can very readily be set for the individual movements, the drive being controlled for this purpose and the spindles (7, 11) being particularly suitable for the transmission of the movement.

  • Patent number: 4341528
Abstract: The Habbal reaction as a simple spectrophotometric method for the determination of urinary vanilmandelic acid (VMA) is presented. The Habbal reaction is based on the diazo reaction, the specificity of which is maximally increased by citrate buffer extraction of urinary phenolic acids and ethyl acetate extraction of the diazo derivative. The excellent specificity of the general reaction is proved by interference studies, specific destruction of VMA and chromatography. However, the diazo derivative of VMA is unstable in organic solvent ethyl acetate and, according to the Habbel reaction, is stabilized by dimethylsulfoxide (DMSO) and 2-amino-2-methyl-1-propanol (AMP) to give a stable blue chromophore absorbing maximally at 600 nm. The method is quick (20 minutes), exhibits excellent sensitivity, linearity and correlation with the highly specific method of bidirectional paper chromatography.

  • Patent number: 4309820
Abstract: An apparatus for inserting a closure with a feedpipe into a container comprises a drum arranged for rotation and having a circumferential wall defining outwardly open recesses for holding the closures with feedpipes, and a guide sheet fixedly mounted adjacent the circumferential wall and covering a portion thereof. The guide sheet has two end edges extending in the planes of the end faces of the drum and two oblique side edges downwardly inclined in the direction of rotation of the drum.

  • Patent number: 4130194
Abstract: Elongated articles are randomly received through the open top of a housing in which an inclined disc is rotatably mounted. The disc has a circumferential edge adjacent the housing and the edge defines equidistantly spaced openings capable of permitting article to pass therethrough into shafts associated therewith and descending therefrom. A stationary annular support plate is mounted in a plane immediately below the plane of the disc and in registry with the openings, the support plate defining an opening at the zenith of the disc for permitting communication between a respective one of the openings in the circumferential disc edge and the shaft associated therewith. This shaft has a perpendicular axis whereby the randomly received articles gravitate to the nadir of the disc, are revolved by the rotating disc to the zenith while supported in the openings on the annular support plate and pass sequentially through the opening at the zenith into the shaft while being erected therein.

  • Patent number: 4106601
Abstract: A mechanism for control of fuel feed, and for the application of the brakes of motor vehicles with manual or automatic gear change.A single spring-loaded foot pedal, held in idling position, is connected to fuel feed and to brake mechanism. When pressure on it is released the fuel feed is opened continuously, and when it is depressed completely the fuel feed is throttled down to idling. When it is depressed beyong idling position, the brakes are operated, and when it is released, the brakes are released.

  • Patent number: 4098361
Abstract: The invention relates to a drilling head connection specifically designed for reverse circulation operation and the connection can be screwed on a double pipe system in such a way that the drilling fluid injected into the annular space passes through the annular channel and thereafter through the channel of the drilling head so as to lubricate the leading surfaces of the bit and the plug moves up through the inner space with the excavation material passing through the lateral channels and also the connection can be used with any drilling head.
