Abstract: A cooking appliance includes a container for containing a cooking liquid; an electrical heating element for heating cooking liquid in the container; a perforated food receptacle comprising first and second adjacent baskets supported in the container for unitary rotation about a substantially horizontal axis, the baskets being openable from a closed food-containing configuration in which part of the receptacle passes through the cooking liquid in the container upon rotation of the receptacle, to enable insertion and removal of food pieces; and a drive mechanism for rotating the food receptacle about the axis.

Abstract: A food processing apparatus including a main housing, a heating compartment, first heating means and second heating means, the heating compartment being enclosed within the main housing, the first heating means being generally disposed proximal to the peripheral surface of the heating compartment for generating heat across the heating compartment for heating food or food items placed within the heating compartment, the second heating means generally extend from a peripheral surface of the heating compartment towards the inside of the heating compartment for generating heat towards the peripheral surfaces of the heating compartment.

Abstract: An electric shaver has two elongate shaving heads extending across an upper end of a body on front and rear sides thereof. Each head has co-operable outer cutting foil and inner shearing cutter. A drive mechanism is located in the upper body end and is in drive engagement with the heads for reciprocating the cutters in opposite directions against the corresponding foils for cutting. Each head has a first part and the upper body end includes a second part, which are in movable engagement with each other such that the head is compressible downwardly to move outwardly from the front/rear side of the body, thereby stretching a user's skin flat to facilitate shaving.

Abstract: A cooking appliance comprising a container for containing a cooking liquid, an electrical heating element for heating cooking liquid in the container, and a food receptacle supported in the container for angular movement about a horizontal pivot axis. The receptacle has a portion that is perforated to let in cooking liquid in the container for cooking the food articles. A drive mechanism serves to move the food receptacle about the pivot axis. The food receptacle includes a wall extending at least partially around the pivot axis. The wall includes a plurality of fixed traps for trapping and carrying the food articles out of the cooking liquid upon relative upward movement of the receptacle and then allowing the food articles to fall back down upon further upward movement of the receptacle.

Abstract: An electric shaver has a casing and a shaving mechanism housed within the casing. The shaving mechanism includes a shaving head. The shaving mechanism is movable from a storage position to a use position where the shaving head protrudes from the casing. A switch operates upon movement of the shaving mechanism to activate the shaving mechanism.

Abstract: A heated water mist therapy appliance generates temperature controlled therapeutic mist by applying ultrasonic vibration to temperature controlled (heated) water. The resulting heated water mist may be applied to the skin of the feet or diverted into a flexible conduit for application to other parts of the body. In some embodiments of the appliance, the user may control the temperature of the water used to make the mist, thereby controlling the temperature of the therapy. The user also controls the volume of water mist/air mixture by adjusting the speed of a fan. The appliance may include an ionizing electrode to enhance the ionic content of the water mist/air mixture.

Abstract: A floating portable humidifier is configured to float partially submerged in an open tray of water. An internal cavity includes water entry apertures below the water line and air entry apertures above the water line. Water enters the cavity through the water entry apertures to establish a constant water level within the cavity. Humidifying apparatus installed within the cavity combines water and air to form humidified air that leaves the humidifier through air exit apertures. A motor-driven fan may assist circulation of humidified air. Sealed chambers or a porous closed cell body construction may provide the necessary buoyancy. Any humidifying apparatus may be used. The floating design eliminates the need for a water tank.

Abstract: A hair curler heating appliance incorporates a plurality of heating posts over which curlers are placed. Individual heaters are vertically arranged within each heating post. Curlers are configured with a metal interior defining a thermal interface with the heater posts. Heat is efficiently transferred outwardly from the heaters through the heater post to the metal interior of each hair curler. No part of the heater is exposed to dissipate heat so that substantially all heat generated by each heater is transferred to each corresponding hair curler.

Abstract: A rotisserie grill includes a control device that alternates heat generation by a plurality of heating elements disposed at the periphery of a cooking chamber. The alternating heat evenly cooks food in a manner similar to a traditional rotisserie, while eliminating the need for food-rotating apparatus. The control device is a timer, which rotates a cam having a profile that actuates a switch. Heating elements are connected to the switch such that when one is energized, the other is not energized. The on/off cycle produced by the rotating cam repeats every 1 to 2 minutes. The rotisserie grill may be provided with multiple heating elements controlled by multiple switches. More than one cam may be employed to actuate the multiple switches in a complex pattern to simulate relative movement between the heating elements and the food.
