    Abstract: A mouthplate is disclosed which includes a support member having a depending flange for insertion into the mouth of a horse or the like during such times as a bridle with bit is worn by the horse. As pressure is applied to the bit the interior cheeks of the horse are prevented from being abraded by the rough edges of the outer vertical walls of the teeth by the depending flanges.
