  • Patent number: 7925232
Abstract: A system for utilizing circular polarized signals to perform satellite communication to mobile users. The satellite includes transponders, each transponder providing linearly polarized signals and at least two orthogonal linear polarized transponders. A plurality of mobile users with a circularly polarized antenna for receiving signals from the satellite, and singly circular or linear polarized transmit antennas for transmitting signals to the satellite. Circuits for providing a correction scheme implemented in a hub side to offset frequency error between two channels produced by the satellite transponder local oscillators mismatch.

  • Publication number: 20090184864
Abstract: A signal processing device includes a device package, processing circuitry and biasing circuitry. The processing circuitry is packaged in the device package and is operative to receive one or more Radio Frequency (RF) input signals from one or more antenna elements via one or more pre-amplifiers that are separate from the device, and to process the RF input signals so as to produce an RF output signal. The biasing circuitry is packaged in the device package and is operative to produce one or more biasing signals for biasing the pre-amplifiers.

  • Publication number: 20080172593
Abstract: A method for communication includes encoding data using at least one Error Correction Code (ECC) to generate first and second output data streams. The first output data stream is processed to generate a first output signal, which has a first acquisition time. The second output data stream is processed to generate a second output signal, which has a second acquisition time that is smaller than the first acquisition time. The first and second output signals are transmitted simultaneously over a communication channel.

  • Publication number: 20060284775
Abstract: Antenna assemblies and associated satellite tracking systems that may include a low profile two-way antenna arrangement, tracking systems, and applications thereof. Applications for the system include military, civilian, and domestic emergency response applications. The antenna arrangements may be configured to form a spatial element array able to track a satellite in an elevation plane by electronically dynamically targeting the antenna arrangement and/or mechanically dynamically rotating the antenna arrangements about transverse axes giving rise to generation of respective elevation angles and dynamically changing the respective distances between the axes whilst maintaining a predefined relationship between said distances and the respective elevation angles. The system provides dynamic tracking of satellite signals and can be used for satellite communications on moving vehicles in military and civilian applications.

  • Publication number: 20060273965
Abstract: Method, system and apparatus for providing dedicated service, using transponders arranged on the geostationary orbit, including satellite television and other data to moving vehicles, equipped with small (less then 30 cm in diameter), low profile antennas, and using signal spreading technique in order to increase the downlink signal strength and to reduce the interference from adjacent satellites ensuring in that way enough margin for the reception by the small size low-profile antennas.
