Abstract: A time-division multiplexed autostereoscopic display preferably having a spatial light modulator layer comprising liquid crystals for modulating light emitted from a directional backlight. The display allows for a plurality of observers to observe images in 3D as well as updating the display for a moving observer.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for displaying an image in a direction towards an observer observing the image from a viewpoint. The method comprises providing a display system including a tracking system for tracking or detecting the position of the observer, a display screen having a plurality of image pixels for displaying the image, a controller for controlling the direction of light emitted from said display screen, and a processing unit for generating a buffer image from a data source. The method further comprises tracking the observer and generating tracking data to the processing unit, generating the buffer image and embedding the tracking data as embedded data in the buffer image, outputting the buffer image to the display screen and displaying the image on the display screen, and reading the embedded data by the controller and directing light from the display screen in a direction towards the viewpoint.
Abstract: A multiview display including a LCD panel for generating first and second images, a backlight including first and second light sources, the first light source illuminating the LCD panel the first image is generated and the second light source illuminating the LCD panel when the second image is generated, optical devices between the backlight and the LCD panel and including: an aperture mask comprising a plurality of apertures, the aperture mask blocking light from the light sources from reaching opposite viewing zones, and a lenticular sheet positioned adjacent to the aperture mask, first and second diffusers disposed between the backlight and the optical devices, and arranged for diffusing light horizontally and vertically, where a longitudinal axis of each aperture has an angle of 5 to 30 degrees.

Abstract: A time multiplexed, selectively updated, sub-pixel less, self-aligning, electrically and optically dual addressed, multi directional pixel is provided. This can potentially greatly increase the performance of an automultiscopic display and reduce the complexity. In one embodiment, an automultiscopic display can simply be provided by a plurality of directional OLED pixels.

Abstract: An exhibition system configured to hold at least one image source or including at least one image source. The image source is arranged for projecting at least one image onto at least one concave semi-transparent reflector providing a magnified representation appearing in the distance beyond the semi-transparent reflector. The system has an adjuster for adjusting the distance between the concave semi-transparent reflector and the first image source and/or angle between the concave semi-transparent reflector and the first image source. The system enables the combination of the real world with magnified images, e.g. from video processing and computer vision techniques, offering a natural view of real scenes enriched with “real size” virtual objects.
