Abstract: A dispenser including a base unit with an actuation mechanism for dispensing liquid and a refill unit insertible into the base unit in an inverted configuration with its outlet lowermost for the supply of liquid to the base unit. The refill unit includes an annular wall projecting into the refill unit and defining an outlet from the refill unit, the annular wall being closable at its innermost end by a valve element biased onto the annular wall. The base unit includes a hollow spigot and an annular seal surrounding and spaced from the top of the spigot whereby insertion of the refill unit into the base unit causes the spigot to enter the annular wall and to lift the valve element from the annular wall to define a flow path from the refill unit, and the annular seal to seal between the spigot and the annular wall.

Abstract: A topical composition comprising at least one active agent selected from a depilatory agent (s), an agent (s) for preventing or reducing the growth or re-growth of hair and an agent (s) for preventing or reducing in-growing hair, and a gas, wherein the at least one active agent and gas are dispersed in a cosmetically acceptable medium.
Abstract: Topical germicidal compositions for application to the epidermis, e.g., hands, arms, legs, face, scalp as well as other body areas, which topical germicidal compositions provide a skin sanitization benefit due to the presence of a large amount of alcohol, yet which impart skin treatment benefits to treated dermal surfaces. The topical germicidal compositions necessarily comprise at least 50% wt. of a C1-C4 monohydric alcohol, preferably ethanol, water and lipid based nanoparticles.
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a bottle (20) with a tamper-proof cap (21) with an outlet in the cap for dispensing the liquid from the bottle. The bottle is designed, in particular, for use in an inverted configuration, namely with the outlet lowermost in normal use, in a device for dispensing liquid soap or the like.

Abstract: A method of delivering a primary active agent and a secondary active agent to a locus. The method uses a polymersome containing composition. The composition comprises a plurality of polymersome vesicles containing the secondary active agent and a liquid matrix comprising the primary active agent. The polymersome vesicles are capable of being disrupted by the application of mechanical shear.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a depilatory composition in the form of a gel which comprises a depilatory compound having a thiol group and at least 1.0 wt % of poly(methylvinyl ether/maleic anhydride) co-polymer crosslinked with 1,9 decadiene.
Abstract: Topical aqueous liquid compositions for application to the epidermis which provide a germicidal benefit thereto comprising: 0.02-10% wt. of a germicidally effective amount of a quaternary ammonium surfactant compound, 0.1-25% wt. of at least one anionic surfactant constituent which excludes anionic surfactants of the sulfate and sulfonate types, 0.1-15% wt. of a cationic conditioner constituent, 0-10% wt. of a foam stabilizer constituent; at least 70% wt. of water, and optionally one or more of optional constituents which may be used to impart an aesthetic benefit, e.g., color, fragrance, or a further technical benefit, e.g., viscosity adjustment, to the liquid compositions, characterized in that: (a) the weight ratio of the germicidally effective quaternary ammonium and cationic conditioner constituent to the anionic surfactant constituent is not less than 0.
Abstract: A liquid delivery system comprising a base unit (2) comprising a liquid inlet in an upwardly facing surface, a liquid duct leading from the inlet to a liquid outlet above the liquid inlet; a pump for pumping the liquid from the inlet to the outlet; a motor to drive the pump; and a shroud extending upwardly in a manner which surrounds the inlet, the shroud having an upper edge which has a downwardly extending recess (20) for a part of its circumference; characterised by the system further comprising an insert (21) in the recess (20) which forms a liquid-tight seal with the recess (20) and defines, with the shroud, a liquid cavity in communication with the liquid inlet in the base.

Abstract: A device for cleaning a surface comprises a pressurized container containing a cleaning composition; a nozzle through which the composition is arranged to be dispensed, in use, upon an actuation of a valve; a shroud attached to the container and surrounding the nozzle. The shroud has a hollow generally cylindrical portion adjacent to the nozzle for guiding the dispensed product in the direction in which it leaves the nozzle, and a flared portion at the end of the cylindrical portion furthest from the nozzle forming a spreading plate for guiding the dispensed product laterally when in contact, in use, with a surface to be cleaned. The nozzle is arranged to be actuated by movement of the container towards the shroud. The device comprises a reservoir. The nozzle and shroud are configured so that, in use, the cleaning composition is directed across the surface to be cleaned and into the reservoir.
Abstract: A method of manufacturing water-soluble containers using a horizontal intermittent motion thermoforming machine comprises: a) locating a first water-soluble film over a mould, said mould containing a plurality of pocket forming cavities, defined by side walls and a base, in a 2-dimensional array, each cavity being surrounded by a planar surface of the mould on all sides; b) thermoforming the first film to produce a plurality of pockets; c) at least partially filling the pockets with a composition; and d) sealing the plurality of the at least partially filled pockets. The cavities are positioned in the array such that there are a plurality of continuous strips of uninterrupted planar surface of the mould from a leading to a trailing edge of the mould, for receiving support means fitted to the machine for supporting the film.
