  • Patent number: 11475625
Abstract: A method, apparatus and computer program for generating a sub-volume within a 3D dataset in a consistent, repeatable fashion. To accomplish this, geometric object(s) (e.g., 2D planes) are placed at precise anatomic landmarks with precise sizes and orientations. This serves to divide the 3D object into multiple parts (e.g., a first portion of the 3D volume has a first set of voxels and a second portion of the 3D volume has a second set of voxels). This process continues as multiple additional geometric objects are placed so that certain features of the 3D dataset can be extracted (i.e., shown with the best viewing settings). This process when used in conjunction with a radiologist's checklist enables efficient volume-by-volume viewing.

  • Patent number: 11442538
Abstract: In this patent, an improved eye tracking system is implemented for enhanced viewing. This system incorporates eye facing cameras and tracks display settings longitudinally and determines which portions of the image have been viewing and to what extent. A longitudinal dataset is generated and analyzed to better understand the human review process and cause improvements thereof. Furthermore, image review is enhanced by highlighting portions of the image that have not been adequately reviewed. Comparison across multiple reviewers is also performed to improve a user's performance.

  • Patent number: 11442534
Abstract: A physician performing a physical examination can miss subtle abnormalities, such as alterations of respiratory rate or dangerous skin lesion. A surgeon performing surgery can miss small areas of bleeding or tumor implants. This invention comprises head display unit comprising sensors including low light level TV (L3TV) cameras that gather data and in real time analyzes the data for potential hazards and alerts the user of a potential hazardous scenario.

  • Patent number: 11417071
Abstract: Virtual tools are used to manipulate aspects of a three-dimensional medical image volume. The virtual tools are geo-registered with the image volume. Presentation of the image volume is manipulated by an image processor in response to use of the virtual tools. The virtual tools may be used to facilitate analysis of the image volume. The virtual tools may include: a virtual focal point pen; a virtual 3D cursor; a virtual transport viewer; a virtual pedestal; a virtual knife; a virtual catheter; a virtual road sign; a virtual ablation tool; a virtual table; a virtual contrast tool; and virtual icons.

  • Patent number: 11395701
Abstract: An interactive placement of a digital representation of a surgical device is described. Integration of the digital representation of the surgical device with the 3D medical image facilitates pre-operative surgical planning and surgical device selection. Location indicators, annotations, and registration markers may be overlaid on selected volume images.

  • Patent number: 11380065
Abstract: In this patent, an advanced head display unit designed primarily for fire fighters is disclosed. The advanced augmented reality/virtual reality (AR/VR) head display unit improves coordination between teammates through eye tracking coupled with augmented reality features. This allows one fire fighter to know where another fire fighter is looking and helps coordinate tasks by dividing the scene into sectors and visibly marking each sector. Further, this system helps determine where to hose with a smart target system. Further, multiple sensors are utilized together to triangulate the location of a victim's voice. Additional advantages are also disclosed above.

  • Patent number: 11337670
Abstract: A method and apparatus is disclosed, which improves the analysis of an object within a scanned bag. Specifically, the techniques disclosed herein overcome the problem of measurement errors due to imaging artifacts, which can occur during imaging examinations like CT scans. This process also discloses a method of using an improved accuracy of data units of an object lead to more accurate classification of the material that makes up the object.

  • Patent number: 11341643
Abstract: This patent includes techniques for improved rates of display of images within an image set. This is particularly useful to scrolling through medical images. For example, the top of the head on an axial head CT image is a smaller size on the screen as compared to the middle of the head. This patent provides a method for image analysis and medical history analysis to optimize scrolling rates.
