Each of the elements for stores respective portions of subscriber profile data, in disparate formats.

Abstract: A method of distributing and executing service logic across private and public networks for the generation and provision of telecommunication services is disclosed. The functionality and capabilities associated with both Intelligent Network (IN) and non-IN compliant elements of a public telecommunications system are abstracted using a set of control and informational parameters and variables which are associated with a given network element or network element category. A service creation and execution application programming interface provides access to a service creation and execution environment which is distributed in public network gateways, private network gateways, and in compatible software platforms.

Abstract: The invention of present provides for a real-time authentication and billing gateway for WLAN traffic. Notably, the improved method for implementing a Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) gateway system enables telecommunications network operators (and like entities) to rate and bill for services accessed by the wireless user. The logic of the invention supports and furthers the art in regards to advanced real-time rating/billing in addition to providing for a variety of replenishment mechanisms for casual users via pre-paid vouchers and credit cards.

Abstract: The method for implementing an Intelligent Content Rating middleware platform and gateway system disclosed herewith provides telecommunications carriers and network operators with the ability to define routing and actions based on HTIP/SIP based content and subscriber context through a powerful, extensible Layer 4-7 switching fabric technology. The invention mediates communications between applications and networks for IP packet flows, personal messaging, location-based services and billing. Furthermore, it enables advanced context-sensitive dialogue scenarios with the wireless subscriber such as, but not limited to, Advice-of-Charge dialogues. The art permits telecommunications network operators and like entities to introduce real-time rating of data services for both prepaid and post-paid subscribers. Abstract: A method and system for storage is provided that in one embodiment includes a store process that continually appends data to the end of a data file and without deleting the data file. Additions, changes and deletions to data are managed by adding new data to the file and changing appropriate pointers in the data file to reflect the new data. Various application programming interfaces are also provided so that the store process can operate transparently to higher level applications. Various plug-ins are also provided so that the store process can utilize different types, configurations and numbers of storage devices.

Wherein a threshold is assigned based on usage information for a particular promotion; upon realization of which, the subscriber is, immediately notified of the reward through a plurality of means including e-mail, voice notification and by way of Short Message Service (SMS) at their wireless handset.

Abstract: A method and system for routing incoming communications in a communications network are provided. The network comprises a plurality of network elements. An addressable number is associated with a plurality of communications devices each identified by a unique identifier. A communication addressed to a communications device is received at a network element, the communication comprising the addressable number. A subscriber service profile associated with the addressable number is retrieved at a discrete network element, where an appropriate communications device for delivery of the incoming communication based on pre-established criteria in the subscriber service profile is determined. An identifier of the appropriate communications device is forwarded from the discrete network element to the network element. The communication is transmitted to the appropriate communications device.

A method in accordance with an embodiment includes an operation that can be used to port data from one or more existing database partitions to new database partitions according to a minimally progressive hash. The method can be used to increase the overall size of databases while a system runs hot, with little or no downtime.

Abstract: A method for Internet Protocol (IP) charging and rating gateway within a system having: (i) a proxy server for connection to an Authentication, Authorization, and Accounting (AAA) server; (ii) an access gateway, (iii) an IP classification engine for connection between a data network and the access gateway; and (iv) a gateway controller connected to the proxy server and the IP classification engine, including the steps of: (a) receiving IP packets at the IP classification engine, the IP packets originating from the data network and destined for a subscriber device via the access gateway; (b) classifying the IP packets according to the protocol of each of the packets at the IP classification engine; and (c) selectively instructing the IP classification engine to permit or deny the flow of IP packets between the data network and the access gateway at the gateway controller. Preferably, the proxy server is configured to emulate the access gateway and the AAA server.
