Patents Assigned to Reeves Bros., Inc.
  • Patent number: 5248731
Abstract: Thermoplastic synthetic polymeric compositions of certain polyurethanes, polyamides or chlorinated polyolefins, having processing temperatures in the range of about 150.degree. to 325.degree. F., can be modified by the addition of a millable thermoplastic polyurethane elastomer thereto to lower the processing temperature by 10.degree. to 30.degree. F. or more. This modification enables the thermoplastic composition to be processed on conventional calendering or extrusion equipment with a lesser amount of energy or with better performance. Also, coated fabrics of such thermoplastic compositions and a fiber reinforcement.

  • Patent number: 4741951
Abstract: A method for manufacturing a molded polyurethane article from a polyurethane foam forming composition, wherein the composition includes a polyol, an organic isocyanate compound and water, with the polyol being a polymer dispersion formed by free radical initiated polymerization of an ethylenically unsaturated monomer mixture having between 51 and 99 weight percent of an acrylic monomer with a polyoxyalkylene polyether polyol, wherein the monomer mixture represents between about 25 to 75 weight percent of the dispersion. After the foam is formed from the foam forming composition, it is molded under heat and pressure to form a molded polyurethane article.

  • Patent number: 4404243
Abstract: A latent pressure-sensitive sheet material, e.g., fastener or closure having a discontinuous surface is made by applying a solvent-based pressure-sensitive adhesive by means of a gravure roll onto a flocked pile surface which is adhered to a substrate by a permanent adhesive. The flocked pile surface serves as a reservoir for the pressure-sensitive adhesive. The pressure-sensitive adhesive is wicked towards the face of the flocked pile surface upon face-to-face mating of two fasteners. The reservoir of pressure-sensitive adhesive and the wicking action enables repeated fastening and unfastening of two mated fasteners without substantial loss of locking power. The fasteners are particularly useful for seaming carpets. Also, the reservoir of pressure-sensitive material in one said fastener can be a curable or crosslinkable pressure-sensitive adhesive material, e.g.
