Abstract: The invention relates to a refractory material for use in different parts of rotary furnaces, having a composition of minerals defined as a percentage by weight of sintered mullite or andalusite or sintered alumina or fused alumina or electrocast alumina-zirconium of between 30 and 80%, a percentage by weight of silicon carbide of between 5 and 15%. The material is used as a lining in rotary furnaces, for the precalciner, the smoke chamber, the furnace inlet, the burning area, the safety area, the furnace outlet area and the cooler.
