Abstract: Apparatus, system, and method embodiments provide a fractionation device for the fractionation or separation of blood or bone marrow aspirate (BMA) into one or more component layers and the efficient collection of layers of interest. The fractionation device includes a generally cylindrical sidewall, a top wall connected to an upper portion of the sidewall, a bottom wall connected to a lower portion of the sidewall, and an interior partition. The interior partition includes a sloped portion contacting the sidewall and a vertical portion contacting the top wall.

Abstract: Apparatus, kit and method embodiments are disclosed herein that provide for the production of a modified autologous platelet mixture at a patient bedside for contemporaneous reinjection to the patient using a platelet lysis apparatus. Representative platelet lysis apparatus may include a housing supporting a sample tube and a thermal mass element connected to or near the sample tube. The thermal mass element may be separable from the housing, and/or the sample tube may be separable from the thermal mass element.

Abstract: Autologous compositions and methods are provided for cartilage repair in patients in need thereof. Some aspects include combinations of platelet-based materials with chondrogenesis inducing agents in the presence or absence of cell-based therapies.
Abstract: Embodiments include systems, methods and devices for the percutaneous delivery of therapeutic agents to tendons, ligaments and muscle. Certain embodiments include a device comprising a needle-catheter based delivery system with adjustable characteristics to allow a clinician to control the angle and depth of needle and/or catheter deployment to a desired location. System embodiments may include a controller unit where a clinician can adjust the axial position depth and location of needles and/or catheters.

Abstract: Apparatus, systems and methods for processing a blood sample. One embodiment comprises an isolation container having at least one sidewall defining an interior volume. The interior volume includes a medial reservoir in fluid communication with proximal and distal reservoirs. The diameter of the medial reservoir is less than the diameter of the proximal and distal reservoirs. Therefore, the isolation container has an interior volume which is roughly hour-glass shaped with the medial reservoir being a substantially narrowed portion or channel between two wider portions. The isolation container is configured such that the buffy coat layer of fractionated blood will be located within and may be accessed from the reduced cross sectional medial reservoir after a centrifuge or other processing step.
