  • Patent number: 11719778
Abstract: Methods and systems generate synthetic late gadolinium enhancement (LGE) magnetic resonance images using a magnetic resonance fingerprinting (MRF) acquisition. From a single acquisition, MRF image data is obtained, including co-registered T1 and T2 tissue property maps. Different tissue regions of interest are identified, such as viable myocardium, scar, and blood and T1 and T2 values for each are determined. Based on these, different sets of pulse sequence parameters are determined, e.g., using different synthetic image contrast models receiving the MRF image data. Synthetic LGE images at different contrasts are generated as a result, including a synthetic bright-blood LGE image, a synthetic dark-blood/gray-blood LGE image, and a synthetic optimized imaged.

  • Patent number: 11714330
Abstract: Integrated Optical Phased Array device is a good potential solution for the solid-state LIDAR technology in the application of autonomous driving technique. However, some difficulties still limit the development of OPA devices, one of them is the conflict between the requirement of fewer units in the phase-tuning system and more elements in the emitting system. The present disclosure provides an approach of a Phase-Combining Waveguide Doubler (PCWD) to address this issue. This device can double the waveguide number without any phase mismatch. It enables the capability to control 2N?1 emitting elements with N phase shifters. The device is competitive to any grating coupler array based or end-fire based emitting method, which can potentially satisfy the requirement of a sub-wavelength pitch.

  • Patent number: 11703331
Abstract: Three-dimensional (3D) micro-scale shells are presented with openings of various sizes and geometries on the surface. The shell consist of a suspended ring-shaped resonator, multiple support beams, a support post, and a cap region that connects the support beams to the support post. Shells with openings of various sizes and geometries allow the creation of micro electromechanical systems (MEMS) sensors and actuators with a wide range of engineered mechanical and electrical properties. The openings on the shell surface can, for example, control the mechanical quality factor (Q) and resonance frequencies of the shell when the shell is used as a suspended proof mass of a mechanical resonator of a vibratory gyroscope. The shells can also serve as mechanical supporting layers and/or an electrode connection layer for MEMS actuators and sensors that use 3D shells as proof masses.
