  • Patent number: 7059030
Abstract: Pressing device for the relative axial displacement of two mutually coaxial parts that can only be displaced towards one another by using a high pressing power, for example collet chucks or clamping sleeves, into corresponding holes in tool or collet chuck holders. The device has a housing (7) consisting of two at least partially separable shells, which can be placed coaxially around the parts to be pressed. In the closed state, the housing has coaxial annular contacting edges (19, 20) for engaging with one of the parts to be pressed. In the inner chamber (21) of the housing there is an axially displaceable pressing plate (22) with an annular contacting edge (23) for engaging with the second part to be pressed. The press plate is displaced by a number of pressure cylinders (13, 14) arranged in a ring at equal angular distances between the housing and the press plate.

  • Patent number: 6887019
Abstract: A heat shrink tool holder for holding tools and machine parts in an axial bore comprises a sleeve between the bore of the holder and the tool shank or machine part. The sleeve is a reducing sleeve that transfers a holding action exerted by the holder in its cold state to the tool shank or part. The sleeve is made of a material with a low thermal conductivity, like ceramic, and may be interchangeable or firmly fixed to the holder.

  • Patent number: 6810733
Abstract: The balancing system includes two balancing rings which can be rotated, and secured in desired angular positions, in relation to one another and are provided with an unbalance. Annular grooves in the inner surface of the balancing rings and annular grooves which are situated opposite the aforementioned annular grooves and are located in a cylindrical outer surface of the rotating machine part accommodate an elastic ring which secures the balancing rings in the axial direction. A radial threaded bore which is not continuous in the outward direction and is located in the balancing rings accommodates a locking screw for securing the balancing rings.

  • Patent number: 5327732
Abstract: The present invention relates to a high capacity movable plant for continuously distributing nitrogen in gaseous phase or in a mixture gaseous and liquid phases for extinguishing fires comprising at least a high capacity thermally insulated tank for storing nitrogen in liquid phase at a temperature of about -196.degree. C. and at maximum pressure of about 405.2 kPa and from which nitrogen in liquid phase is supplied, with a liquid nitrogen supplying capacity of about 50 m.sup.3, to a pumping unit comprising at least three pumps each having each a flow rate of 175 m.sup.3 /h with a maximum differential pressure of 1013 kPa. The liquid nitrogen is vaporized in the vaporization and mixture regulation unit with a vaporization capacity of about 360,000 m.sup.3 /h for liquid nitrogen.

  • Patent number: 5275244
Abstract: The present invention provides an apparatus and process to extinguish fires in oil wells by encircling the nucleus of the fire by creating a barrier of isolation of the fuel. The apparatus expands gases in the gaseous and liquid states and directs such gases upon, under and around the nucleus of fire, encircling it at 360 degrees and isolating it completely from the atmospheric air, while at the same time causing the convenient cooling of the nucleus of fire, thereby avoiding any possibility of auto-ignition. The process and apparatus of extinguishing fires in oil wells either in land or at sea, is also disclosed which uses a derrick type hoist, to place the apparatus around the fire, and to apply simultaneously a non-combustible gas in the liquid state (for example, carbon dioxide CO.sub.2, or bromochlorine-difluormetane, or nitrogen or any other commercially known gas like HALON 1211), and the same gas in the gaseous state.

  • Patent number: 4310012
Abstract: In combination with a relatively non-extendible emergency cable mechanically placed under tension and including a rigidly supported link having a fuse element and manual pull handle which are suggestive of their purpose and operation in the cable for alert and quck actuation of cut-off flow control valves of varying types of sensitivities to prevent serious escape of liquefied petroleum gas under high pressures, and also serving as a remote manual shut off control for terminating a delivery truck tank filling operation.

  • Patent number: 4269215
Abstract: A vapor pressure equalizing valve disposed in a vapor return conduit between a storage tank and a liquid receiving tank to provide the same volume of flow but at a higher rate and greater fluidity than that of liquid flow volume in a preferably larger liquid conduit, and providing an excess flow shut off response that can be triggered manually or by the danger of a hose rupture or in case of fire or a break in the vapor return conduit, to protect either tank, or with two valves protect both tanks, with great quickness of action. The valve serves as a manual vapor flow shut off valve which may be latched open; and is unlatched to close by a local or remote control or fire, but while latched open provides an excess flow arresting action.

  • Patent number: 4230161
Abstract: Multi position flow check valves for both liquid and vapor filler conduits having essentially two positions, a closed position, and a wide open flow position to activate the latch, the valve being automatically closed from the flow position under hazardous conditions including equipment accidents and fires, and open only when manually opened for latching purpose in tank filling operations at bulk storage stations. One hazardous condition includes an appreciable stretch strain exerted on filler hoses connected between the storage supply tank and the mobile delivery tank sufficient when dangerous to close the valves and prevent serious escape of gases in event of hose rupture. Non-extendible elements providing the differential criteria also serve as remote shut-off controls, including manual, automatic and thermal for safety termination of a refilling operation.

  • Patent number: 4064907
Abstract: A high volume filler and automatic fill-limiting valve unit for customer LP Gas dispensing systems in which tandem backflow check valves are opened by incoming replenishing liquid. When a prescribed outage fill level is reached, the inner one of the valves is released from a mechanical restraint of a float control to convert and operate as an inflow check valve which is closed by the incoming flow pressure drop across it to arrest further inflow and permit the outer one of the valves to also close if it is mechanically free to do so. In either case after inflow shutoff the inner valve under spring pressure resumes its normal outflow check valve position to free the float mechanism and independently supplement the backflow check valve function of the outer valve.

  • Patent number: RE37484
Abstract: A clamping device has a collet or a sleeve that contains an inner coolant supply. The non-through parts of the clamping device have formed therein radial slits and/or intermediate slits that open at the machine side and/or the tool side of the shank of the device. The slits and non-through parts of the device are arranged in such a way that they form a coolant barrier.
