Publication number: 20100120321Abstract: In one embodiment of the present invention, a vertical take off aircraft is provided with an airframe having an aft section freely pivotally connected to the bow section. The airframe is substantially planar when the aft section is pivotally aligned with the bow section. A propeller system and a pair of wings are secured to the bow section of the airframe. When the bow section is pivoted to a vertical position and the aircraft is placed on a surface, the propeller system when activated will vertically lift the aircraft off of the surface. Furthermore, when the aircraft vertically lifts off of the surface, the aft section freely pivots to form the substantially planar airframe which creates larger lift forces in a horizontal direction than in a vertical direction causing the aircraft to fly in a more horizontal direction, whereby the aircraft automatically switches from a vertical take off to horizontal flight.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 21, 2010Publication date: May 13, 2010Applicant: REHCO LLCInventors: Steven Rehkemper, Jeffrey Rehkemper, Peter Greenley

Patent number: 7581611Abstract: In accordance with one embodiment of the present invention a two-wheel vehicle is provided. The vehicle includes a pair of wheel housings, each wheel housing having an inner circumference and an outer circumference, and further having an annular gear rack being positioned on the inner circumference and a wheel secured on the outer circumference. A motor mechanism drives a gear train that is meshed to the annular gear racks. A chassis is connected to a frame and interconnects the pair of wheel housings to the frame such that the frame moves independently from the pair of wheel housings. A tilting mechanism tilts the frame about the chassis such that the vehicle turns in the direction of the tilt. A stabilizing mechanism, when the frame is tilting, counteracts the forces on the vehicle to assist in maintaining an upright position while the vehicle is turning.Type: GrantFiled: August 7, 2007Date of Patent: September 1, 2009Assignee: Rehco, LLCInventor: Ryan Kratz

Patent number: 7337862Abstract: In accordance with the present invention a mono-wheel vehicle is provided. The vehicle includes a housing with an inner circumference. A wheel is connected to the housing such that the wheel is able to rotate independently of the housing. The wheel has an outside portion that makes contact with a surface. A motor mechanism is provided for rotation of the wheel. Gyroscopic forces acting on the rotating wheel maintain the vehicle in a substantially upright position such that the vehicle is able to travel along the surface in a first direction. A platform connected to the inner circumference of the housing is pivotable in relation to the housing to causes a change in a center of gravity. The change in center of gravity causes the gyroscopic forces acting on the vehicle to turn the vehicle towards the changing center of gravity in order to maintain the vehicle in a more upright position.Type: GrantFiled: June 3, 2005Date of Patent: March 4, 2008Assignee: Rehco, LLCInventors: Peter Greenley, Jeffrey Rehkemper

Patent number: 7178758Abstract: A propeller related vehicle in accordance with one embodiment of the present invention is described as a helicopter having an airframe housing a motor mechanism for powering a main propeller attached to a main drive shaft that extends vertically through the airframe and for powering a tail rotor. The helicopter further includes a horizontal stabilizing mechanism attached between the main propeller and the main drive shaft, which permits the main propeller to freely pivot about the main drive shaft independently from the airframe. As such when the main propeller is rotating and the main propeller begins to pitch, the rotating main propeller has a centrifugal force created by the rotation thereof and will tend to pivot about the horizontal stabilizing mechanism in a manner that offsets the pitch such that the helicopter remains in a substantially horizontal position. In addition various main propeller configurations may be employed that provide additional self-stabilization.Type: GrantFiled: May 10, 2004Date of Patent: February 20, 2007Assignee: Rehco, LLCInventor: Jeffrey Rehkemper
