    Abstract: A table bushing is used with a rotary drilling machine of the type having a table through which a drill steel passes. The table bushing uses an automotive tire, or like resilient annular tube, to center the table bushing within an oversized hole in the table. The tire, the pressure of which can be varied according to the operating conditions, dampens vibrations generated while drilling under high thrust loads.
