Abstract: The invention relates to a metal gasket, in particular a cylinder head gasket, having two beaded metallic cover sheets and having at least one sandwich sheet, which surrounds an opening. The sandwich sheet features a folded edge, that lies in the region of one of the beads of one of the cover sheets. Further, the folded edge is formed in the direction of one of the beads.

Abstract: A metallic flat gasket, particularly a cylinder head gasket having at least one beaded gasket plate and a support plate surrounds at least one passage opening. On the edge of the gasket plate surrounding the passage opening is shaped a bead, which is held in indirect force closure. To this end the area of the carrier sheet supporting the free leg of the bead is thinner or thicker than the remaining area. It preferably has a topographically freely selected shape and/or different widths along the passage opening circumference. A material reinforcement is obtained in that the carrier sheet is provided with a recess and a metal ring e.g. formed by a fold or flange.

Abstract: The invention relates to a flat gasket material and to a process for the production thereof and of a flat gasket therefrom. In the process according to the invention the flat gasket material is preferably constituted by an indeterminate length sheet or web of a carrier material, which is printed on one or two sides with a sealing layer. The finished printed sheet or web of indeterminate length is subsequently punched out to the desired flat gasket shape. The sealing layer is a geometrical structure that is the same on both sides of the sheet and congruent.
