Patents Assigned to Reiter Machine Works, Ltd.
  • Patent number: 5287597
Abstract: In addition to removing noil from a combing machine, the lap pieces which occur during a lap change operation are suctioned off and recycled into the combing process so as to reduce the amount of waste generated by the combing process. The noil and lap pieces can be removed from the combing heads through a common suction tube and conveyed separately via connecting pipes to separate points. The lap pieces which have been separated can be transported into a drum separator with the fiber material of the lap pieces being separated and recycled for the production of new laps.

  • Patent number: 5155989
Abstract: A method of and an apparatus for producing a blended yarn from cotton fibers and man-made or synthetic fibers. According to conventional methods the blending of cotton fibers and man-made fibers has been hitherto effected subsequent to a cotton combing process. In order to obtain an appropriate yarn quality, it is necessary to comb out the cotton and thereby separate the short fibers thereof. With the prior art method of bringing together or combining the blend constituents subsequent to the cotton combing process, there have been problems with regard to a homogeneous blending of cotton and man-made fibers. A great number of machines is thereby required and the corresponding constructional expenditure is high. Therefore, a method and an apparatus are suggested and according to which the two blend constituents, namely cotton fibers and man-made fibers, are already brought together or combined prior to the combing process.

  • Patent number: 4993122
Abstract: The nipper has a lower jaw which carries a nipper plate and an upper jaw with a nipper plate carried by two arms. At least a part of this nipper, e.g. the lower nipper plate and the upper nipper plate are made from bonded fiber material. In this way, the unit is lighter than a unit which is made completely from metal.

  • Patent number: 4876769
Abstract: The fiber processing installation monitors the operation of a discontinuously operating stop/go stage to obtain an actual value signal corresponding to the ratio of operative time to inoperative time as well as the total production of a continuously operating downstream stage, such as a card room, to establish a set value signal. A deviation of the actual value from the set value provides a control signal to adjust the ratio of operative time to inoperative time of the upstream stage so as to maintain the total production of the installation constant.

  • Patent number: 4213573
Abstract: A bobbin revolver for winding textile filaments has a rotatable chuck carrier with a plurality of bobbin chucks. The carrier is rotatable on a central shaft to urge the chucks successively towards a friction drive drum which rotates bobbins on the chucks to wind filament packages thereon. A fluid coupling, comprising co-axial, relatively rotable parts having communicating passages therethrough, is provided around the shaft to pass pressure fluid to and/or from devices on the carrier. The fluid coupling is arranged so that there is no relative rotation of its parts during winding of a package, thereby avoiding disturbance of the contact pressure between a package and the friction drum through sliding friction between the coupling parts.
