Abstract: The 4-in-1 cutting jig for femoral finishing comprises a cutting block provided with cutting guides configured to be placed, during use, in contact with the distal resection surface of a femur, at least a first patient-specific made-to-measure module and first coupling means in an obligatory position for coupling the first module with the cutting block, the first module having first reference means configured to position, during use, the cutting block in a predetermined and patient-specific manner relative to the distal resection surface, the first reference means comprising at least a first abutment element having a first surface configured to line up, during use, with a femoral landmark of the patient.
Abstract: The disclosure herein relates to various surgical methods for implanting a prosthesis in a patient. In particular, in some embodiments, a surgical method for preparing a knee of a patient to implant a customized knee prosthesis comprising: identifying epiphysary axis (2) of the patient tibia (1) by connecting the center of the tibial plateau with the center of the growth plate remnant on a preoperative planning; and performing a tibial cut (3) perpendicular to the epiphysary axis (2) of the tibia (1).
Abstract: A customised patient-specific 4-in-1 femoral finishing cutting jig comprising a cutting block which is configured to be placed, in use, in contact with the distal resection surface of a femur; the jig being characterised in that it comprises a reference means which is connected to said block; wherein the reference means is configured to position, in use, said block relative to the distal resection surface in a predetermined and patient-specific manner; wherein the reference means comprises a first contact element having a first surface which is configured to face, in use, a first femoral condyle and being customised and patient-specific; said first surface is configured to be placed against a respective portion of a first femoral condyle having a corresponding profile.
