  • Patent number: 5563775
Abstract: In a full-bridge phase displaced resonant transition circuit a center-tap is placed on the power transformer primary winding. The center-tap is connected to an inductor at one end with another end of the inductor connected to a large capacitor. The other end of the capacitor is connected to circuit common. During the time that a diagonal of the switching bridge is conducting, current will increase in the inductance of the power transformer primary winding. When the bridge changes to a horizontal conduction situation, the current in the power transformer primary winding will stop increasing and will essentially hold its value until the next diagonal conduction. Concurrently during the horizontal conduction the current in a resonant inductor will increase. When the bridge changes again to diagonal conduction the resonant inductor will stop increasing and essentially hold its value until the next horizontal conduction.

  • Patent number: 5553394
Abstract: A radial jet nozzle for use in cooling a subject body. The radial jet nozzle includes a duct communicating with a plenum and a tapered flow diverter body positioned within the duct for comtrollably diverting the flow of a heat transfer medium through the duct. Heat transfer medium flowing through the duct is controllably, radially directed away from a discharge port of the duct. Flow from the discharge port of the radial jet nozzle creates a negative pressure in an area between a head of the diverter body and target surface of the subject body. The negative pressure increases the heat transfer rate which also increases the mass flow rate without damage to the target surface thereby enhancing the convective heat transfer characteristics of the heat transfer medium.

  • Patent number: 5117067
Abstract: A reenterable protective housing for protecting telecommunications equipment from detrimental environmental effects contains a reenterable splice enclosure. The protective housing includes a base portion, a bulkhead member, a dome member selectively attachable to the bulkhead member and a sealing assembly for selectively sealing the dome member to the bulkhead member. The dome is selectively reenterable for access to the contents thereof while maintaining the splice enclosure in a sealed condition. The splice enclosure is selectively engageable with the bulkhead member for providing reenterable access to splice connections retained therein.
