Patent number: 5366217Abstract: With a sheet stacker to stack sheets cut by a sheet cutter into stacking station, sheets cut by a sheet cutter are transferred by a conveyor with a fixed sheet interval, a clamping device clamps a base position near the tail end of the sheet during transfer of the sheet, and the sheet transfer speed is reduced to an optimum speed needed for stacking the sheet into stacking station orderly. The clamping device has a rotating device having free rolls at its end and a slowdown roll, and clamps the sheet once during each revolution of the rotating device, by contact of the free rolls with the slowdown rolls.Type: GrantFiled: December 5, 1991Date of Patent: November 22, 1994Assignees: SK Engineering, Ltd., Reliance Electric Ltd.Inventors: Masateru Tokuno, Tatsuyuki Miyagawa

Patent number: 5223069Abstract: With the splicing get started, braking becomes strong and the old core decelerates, when the capstan roll comes to be free run. The speed reference to the second motor is a summed-up speed of "line speed minus capstan speed" and compensated portion of the tension. At once when the old core starts deceleration, the accumulation roll unit starts moving. The capstan roll is accelerated at a certain rate, when the new core is drawn out, up until the speed reaches "line speed plus overrun speed". When the accumulation roll unit reaches the synchronous position, the overrun becomes "0" and the capstan roll synchronizes with the line speed.Type: GrantFiled: December 5, 1991Date of Patent: June 29, 1993Assignees: SK Engineering Ltd., Reliance Electric Ltd.Inventors: Masateru Tokuno, Masaaki Ito

Patent number: 5213036Abstract: With a sheet feeding apparatus, to feed sheets piled up in a hopper, piece by piece, to a printing press from a suction conveyor installed at bottom of the hopper, having motor for driving the suction conveyor, sensor positioned above the suction conveyor to detect front edges of sheets, and a control unit to equalize speed of motor with speed of plate cylinder of the said printing press and to adjust phase of sheet to phase of the plate cylinder, sheet feeding accuracy is improved.Type: GrantFiled: December 5, 1991Date of Patent: May 25, 1993Assignees: SK Engineering Ltd., Reliance Electric Ltd.Inventors: Masateru Tokuno, Tatsuyuki Miyagawa

Patent number: 5214490Abstract: With four CCD (charge coupled device) based cameras and flashing devices, each of which is installed with an angle against the optical axis of a camera, four corners of sheets being transferred line are photographed. Each of four corner detecting sections detects absolute coordinates of a corner based on differences in brightness of standstill picture of sheet corner taken by each camera. Then, based on the detected absolute coordinates of sheet corners, sheet dimensions computing section calculates lengths, widths and diagonal dimensions of sheets.Type: GrantFiled: December 5, 1991Date of Patent: May 25, 1993Assignee: Reliance Electric Ltd.Inventors: Norihiro Abe, Tatsuyuki Miyagawa

Patent number: 4104723Abstract: A method for controlling the speed of a rotary cutter to cut a continuously ed web accurately into predetermined lengths. A desired cutting length and the circumference of the rotary cutter are preset. The web speed as detected is multiplied by a coefficient equal to the cutter circumference divided by the cutting length. The resultant signal is compared with the cutter speed as detected, and, if there is any difference, the cutter speed is corrected for accurate cutting.Type: GrantFiled: February 17, 1977Date of Patent: August 1, 1978Assignees: Rengo Kabushiki Kaisha (Rengo Co., Ltd), Nippon Riraiansu Kabushiki Kaisha (Japan Reliance Electric Ltd.)Inventors: Masateru Tokuno, Hisahiro Tanigawa, Masayoshi Kaneko, Noboru Shinmura
